Lord of the Flies in Class Essay To show the effect of Ralph’s experience. After losing multiple friends, being hunted, and losing his place as chief, he has not had any time to grieve his losses until he is rescued. He watched a group of young and innocent kids turn into bloodthirsty monsters. Ralph acknowledges that this will change him for the rest of his life and none of them will be able to resume their lives as they were. He has seen the worst in life and will never be an innocent child again. Golding heeds a warning to the reader. Once innocence is lost it can never be reestablished.
