RC tank combat is an exciting hobby that offers military enthusiasts the opportunity to recreate combat situations using their favorite armored vehicles from history. These vehicles range from tanks to armored cars, to even including artillery pieces. If you are passionate about military history, then this hobby offers you the opportunity to recreate tank battles from the past and test your own strategies in simulated combat situations.
As with any combat situation, solid strategic planning, speed, and the element of surprise will play a role in winning a RC tank battle. Before the battle gets to raging, there are a few things that you must be aware of in order to fully enjoy the hobby. First, both sides must check their tanks and other equipment and be certain that everything is in fully operational working order. Then the tanks and other equipment must be fully charged and responsive to their controls. With these things done, the battle can commence.
As the battle begins, there are a few rules that apply to any RC tank combat scenario. The first is that the vehicles and weapons systems being used should be modeled after real vehicles or weapons used for military purposes within a certain time period. This guarantees the historical accuracy of the combat situation. The next rule that applies is that all tanks, vehicles, and other equipment involved in the combat should be of the same scale. It would be quite uneven for someone with a 1/6 scale tank to be fighting someone with a RC tabletop miniature tank. The final rule is that there should be a designated referee to settle any disputes that may arise. Once all parties involved agree to follow these basic rules, the tank battle can begin.
In addition to having some basi...

By incorporating these strategy tips and using the simple rules mentioned above, you will find that the hobby of RC tank combat is extremely exciting. With the actual tactical level of operations seen in the hobby, it offers military history buffs the chance to see just how they might react in armored combat situations. Also the hobby offers the opportunity to learn what works and what doesn't in a military battle and to have fun doing it. Simply put, RC tank combat is a hobby that offers a great way to enjoy military history.

In today’s world, the use of airplanes in wars or in everyday life has become a part of how we live as human beings. Removing the air forces of the world is like taking a step back in time when wars were only fought on land or sea. WWI began only eleven short years after the Wright brothers achieved powered flight in 19031 and yet aircrafts were being used for surveillance and eventually combat purposes. It is understood that these aircrafts were primitive, but they laid down the foundation for what we know today as fighter jets. The Fokker Eindecker “revolutionized air combat by successfully employing a synchronized forward -firing machine gun mounted on the engine cowling”2. Because this airplane became the first to successfully use a synchronized machine gun, it allowed its pilots to become the first aerial combat tactitions3.
In Desert Shield and Desert Storm, Iraqi forces fired 93 Scud missiles at coalition forces in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Israel. (Rostker) Air Defense Artillery (ADA) played an immensely significant role in Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm with units from 11th Brigade Air Defense Artillery and the 32d Air Defense Command rapidly deploying into theater. The effectiveness of the units and their roles in fighting this war proved that Air Defense Artillery was critical to the success of the campaign. Although Patriot Batteries placed strategically throughout Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Israel played a tremendous tactical role in these wars, High-Medium Air Defense (HIMAD) was not the only type of surface to air missile system in place to protect ground forces and valuable military assets. Short Range Air Defense (SHORAD) units also deployed with the air defense units. These weapon systems, integrated with ground forces, provided air defense to dominate against aircraft and Tactical Ballistic Missiles (TBM) on the front lines.

The German tank destroyers at the start of the Lorraine Campaign were the Sturmgeschütz III or Stug III (assault gun) and Jagdpanzer IV (tank hunter). The Sturmgeschütz III was also was an aging design, having been in service since 1940. It weighed 24 tons, carried a high velocity 75mm gun, and had 3 inches of armor. Next was the Jagdpanzer IV, a 26 ton tank destroyer designed after the German defeat at Stalingrad and based on the Panzer Mark IV chassis. It was relatively new, had a high velocity 75mm gun and 3 inches of armor. Both of these tank destroyers had a major disadvantage; they had no turret, which meant the whole tank destroyer had to be aimed at the target, using precious time.
The airmobility concept is one of Army Aviation’s most prominent battlefield innovations, almost single handedly shaping the Vietnam War and in many ways, helping to influence how we fight wars today. In its essence, airmobility is a concept that utilizes Army aircraft in order to enhance the ground forces’ ability to perform the five fundamentals of combat: command and control, firepower, intelligence, mobility, and communications (Rottman, 2007). At the zenith of the airmobility concept is the airmobile assault or commonly known today as, the air assault. The airmobile assault was more than just moving troops from point A to point B; it involved intense planning and preparation. When implemented correctly, the airmobile assault provided light infantry greater mobility on the battlefield, along with the ability to seize the initiative and to synchronize attacks.

In the spring of 1942 the U.S. Navy and Japanese Imperial Fleet engaged in battle at sea on more than one occasion. The Battle of Coral Sea, however, was the first time that these too forces would engage one another at sea using only aircraft. This will be the first battle in history where ships from both sides would never see the other like most conventional naval battles; this one will be fought entirely by aircraft.
...fensive. The tanks were successful in that they achieved the goal of intimidating the German soldiers, making them feel helpless and as if large monsters were coming at them. (Winter). The early tanks used at the Somme offensive were unreliable, with very few actually making it to the German trenches. In addition to the unreliability, when the weather turned to rain the entire battleground became a large quagmire, meaning tanks were unable to move efficiently across the battlefield, resulting in an increased stalemate.
As the Germans arrived at Stalingrad the Russian forces were badly outnumbered in terms of tanks and soldiers. Reinforcements from across the Volga River prevented the Germans from gaining an edge. To prevent the Germans from effectively using their artillery and aircrafts, ...

...litary applications of simulations. U.A.V simulations just like flight simulators exist for U.A.V’s so that during training pilot’s wont crash the U.A.V costing the military more money. Tank operation could benefit from simulators in many of the same ways as U.A.V simulators or flight simulators along with the added benefit of strategic training. Bomb diffusing is also another suitable application of simulations for obvious reasons. Then the average solder could use simulators for combat and strategy training. With these simulations any situation can be made for these solders to use for training so that they can have at least some grasp of what tactics they might have to face in the field. While also giving them a chance to work together with their men so that they can see what tactics work well in what situations and what tactics don’t work well in what situations.
Today the M2 is used for more than just anti-aircraft. Since very little changes have been made to this remarkable weapon system, military researchers have been able to maximize the capabilities and uses on the battle field. This weapon is used both in the offense and defense and can be used effectively to engage light armored vehicles, low flying aircraft, boats, and personnel. The M2 can either be ground or vehicle mounted giving our military unlimited uses of this weapon. This weapon system has been mounted on numerous light armored vehicles, air craft, water craft, as well as tanks.
