The government’s intensive challenge to address concerned issues that affect the public within a given nation is called Public Policy. Public policy is an effort by a government to address a public concerns by establishing rules, guidelines, results, or movements appropriate to the problem at hand. Many issues can be handled by public policy including crime, education, foreign policy, health, and social welfare. Leadership is a vital part of a prosperous public policy making process. To comprehend the past, one studies the leadership who have formed the past. The vision of these modern leaders, holds the key to the future. This paper will address the leadership traits that are the most important in the creation of sound public policy.
Leadership can be observed as mutually a position and a process. The one shared characteristic of leadership across all opinions is that it consist of determined inspiration of a group or business. High performance administrations entail a stability of both effective leaders and managers. Public policy as a choice that government make in answer to political issues or a public problem. Policies are meant at connecting the gap among the standards and rules and a position. Policy guides choices and activities toward those conclusions and activities that are most likely to accomplish an anticipated outcome. The important leadership traits includes such traits as diligence, trustworthiness, dependability, articulateness, sociability, open-mindedness, intelligence, confidence, self-assurance, and conscientiousness. (Bouckaert, and Pollitt, 2003).

In closing, leadership is a complexes process, there are no simple paths or guarantees to becoming a successful leader. Each individual is unique, and each of us has our own distinct talents for leadership. The traits that seem to be very important in leadership are intelligence, confidence. Charisma, determination, sociability, and integrity. By knowing your traits and nourishing them, you will be a well-developed and successful leader.
