If you could make the decision whether the Keystone XL pipeline should be built, think about the impact it has on everyone; money, environment, animals, people. The Keystone XL pipeline is a crude oil pipeline that is an extension of the Keystone pipeline. It would run from Canada into the United States on the Gulf Coast of Texas. The pipeline would bring 830,000 barrels of crude oil per day to be refined in Texas. The Keystone XL pipeline should not be built because of the impact on the environment, not long term help for people, and ruining the lands it runs through. The Keystone XL pipeline impacts the environment negatively with the chance of oil spills and leaks. It does not benefit the people because the number of jobs created won’t actually be permanent, and there is a chance prices for fuel could raise. As well as these problems, the pipeline also affects the lands. It can harm the animals and their habitats as well as the First Nation lands. The Keystone XL pipeline should not be built because of the impact on the environment, not long term help for people, and ruining the lands it runs through. If people could be affected by just the start of the construction to when it would end, it would only impact things more in the future. Animals could lose their habitats, not as many jobs, the environment could be destroyed, and these are only a few. We need to be smart in how we impact the environment because what we do to the earth, it impacts us too.
