The members of the Boston Police Department are Committed and Dedicated to the needs of our community in the delivery of quality police services in an effective, responsive and professional manner. The Boston Police will work closely with the community in improving the quality of life in the city of Boston by using problem solving techniques.
The Boston police will build a strong relationship with the community and successful partnerships with other law enforcement, government and civic agencies to address all crime and disorder issues. The department will have monthly meetings with community members, Project Right, and stakeholders and deal with the issues that matter most to the community.
One of the top most priorities of the Boston police department is the problem of Prostitution on Blue Hill Avenue. Prostitution and sex trafficking has been identified by the public and law enforcement as a problem along Blue Hill for many years. Many street crimes are a direct result from prostitution. Crimes such as street level drug transactions, gang violence, and women being assaulted. These crimes directly impact the local community members who have to deal with them on a daily basis. The Boston Police must directly deal with the problem of prostitution. Blue Hill Ave has become one of the busiest places with prostitution related crimes. Many citizens of that area complain of the non-stop prostitution related offenses.
The conventional acts of policing have not been very successful in combating the issue. Many of these conventional practices are increasing the arrest of the prostitutes and treating them as criminals. Many of these women go through the court system and end up back on the street and back to the life of prostitution...

The problem has been that Boston has never gone after the “Johns” and instead has targeted the prostitutes themselves. The Boston Police Department will discourage the “Johns” by arresting them in reverse sting operations, embarrassing them by sending out “Dear John letters” and creating “John Schools” as a diversion program for first time offenders. The goal is to decrease the number of “Johns” by making more arrest and take away the demand for sex trafficking. The Boston Police Department is committed to making the community a safer place by attacking quality of life issues such as prostitution by taking the Sonoma County government approach in dealing with prostitution.
