Why is it fair for a woman to terminate their unborn child in any circumstance? In my opinion, I think it is fair for a woman to end her pregnancy in any situation, however; others may think not. Women should not be forced to do anything they do not agree with on doing. It is women’s rights to make their own decision. Women should terminate their pregnancy if it is a rape case, if it is their own decision, or if it is ended by her third trimester.

First, rape cases are very popular cases in the United States. “The two premises underlying the Pro-Life position at first seem to directly conflict with the rape and incest exception. Most women are very traumatized in their case because they are attacked and forced into sexual activity. With that being said, if the victim becomes pregnant, she may not want to keep the child. Which is fair because it may only bring back horrific memories. Susan Sherwin writes, “If the fetus is the result of rape or incest, then the psychological pain of carrying it may be unbearable, and the woman may recognize that her attitude to the child after birth will be tinged with bitterness.”(Glenn I. Cohen, 90) The crimes of rape and sexual assault are among the most injurious that perpetrators can inflict on other individuals. These crimes are devastating, extending beyond the initial victimization to such consequences as unwanted pregnancy, sexually transmitted infections, post-traumatic stress disorder, depression, flashbacks, sleep disorders, eating disorders, post-incident substance abuse, self-harm, and even suicide (Rape, Abuse
