Part Two: Presentation Self-Critique On the 14th of February, 2018, I did an informative presentation on Dogs. This presentation covered a variety of important topics in a period of four minutes. These topics include the origin of dogs, how they benefit their owner along with the different roles played by dogs in society today. Overall, I believe my presentation was well done although there were areas that needed improvement. Based on the evaluation of my presentation done by my peers and by analyzing the videotaped presentation I can determine multiple areas of my presentation that demonstrated my strengths and others my weaknesses.

I was fairly confident before my presentation in terms of knowing the information I was going to present. Afterwards I knew that I had gotten the majority of what I wanted to be said clearly and precisely across to the audience. Although, I was well prepared after watching the videotaped version of the presentation I could see that I was lacking confidence, which resulted in “a shake in your voice” as stated by a peer. My biggest flaw after having watched the video and reading the reviews were my nerves, which ultimately demonstrated my lack of confidence, which is the result of my fear of making mistakes. This meaning that I did very little movements while speaking and didn’t properly utilize the area in which I was given to present. I didn’t realize that this was one of my flaws until I read the feedback from my peers and watched the video which made this weakness evident. I believe this was an issue because before I went to present I didn't acknowledge the effect that body language can have on a presentation. Not only this, but I noticed that during my presentation my eyes were focused not on the crowd but on the back of the room which led me to get distracted. I did this as a way to relieve my nerves and forget the people in the room; this resulted in me getting distracted. The following action plan will demonstrate how I plan to improve my presentation and communication
