In the United States, there is an ongoing constant battle going on between the potential ability to pray in public schools or not. For the followers of public prayer, the constitution supports the freedom of religion to be able to uplift prayer whenever they please. For the ones who oppose public prayer, the constitution states the separation of church and state. The United States has had a decline since prayer was taken out of schools. Prayer in school should be allowed to help train our youth to follow the path of righteous living. Prayer in school offers many social benefits. I believe prayer in school would instill moral values, help train children’s mind academically, and nurture their souls to reinforce the values taught at home and in their community. Sometimes when a tragedy happens, It is normal for people to turn to God in prayer for comfort. Psalm 50:15 says, “Call upon me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you, and you will honor me” (The Holy Bible). Christians often feel intimidated when situations arrive. If they pray openly at school, school, anyone who is bitter towards them and their faith can take legal action against them. So should prayer be allowed in school? When prayer is is a usual thing for one Christian’s faith, yes! “People of any and all faiths should not have to feel intimidated when they wish to pray in a public school.
