A pipeline welder is my post secondary plan. A pipeline welder is someone who travels place to place to weld on pipelines. My uncle is a pipeline welder he travels to offshore rigs or to different countries to weld on pipes that his company uses to drill for oil. These welders make between $50,000 to $185,000 a year. This job requires at least a high school diploma others employers look for certifications from technical schools. I take some high school classes to know what I need to wear and to do before I start welding. On one of the websites I got reseach from it said that I will need training before entering this career path. A welder in Texas says that you can start at the bottom as a welder’s helper and make money while you learn and have an opportunity to learn from those who are making a living at it. Another reason is because they are going to work in different countries. Welding might be a good paying job but it is a dangerous also. Welding is a dangerous job because you can hurt your eyes from the flash if you don’t wear eye protection. Yes pipeline welding dangerous, but it is wrong because it is only dangerous when proper safety precautions aren’t taking place. Welding is dangerous because pieces of metal can fall on you and you can get flash burn. And you can be exposed to gases, fires, explosions, and electric shock. Welding is a very important job in today’s society. With new building designs, and bridges to every day metal products, welders are needed to do these tasks. Almost everything that you use every day has some sort of weld to it.
There are two types of careers that allow welders the opportunity to weld and dive. One career is offshore underwater welding (offshore) and the other is inland underwater welding (inland). Although offshore underwater welding has more job opportunities than inland underwater welding, offshore pays slightly higher and has more benefits than inland. Those are not the only two variables though, you also have to think about which is more dangerous, and which wears your body down more. Last, which will keep you away from family and friends?

Most welding is done in aircraft plants and in custom fabrication shops. Other welding jobs are done on the pipeline all over America. Without welding, everyone would be without vehicles and any other form of transportation. Also, there would be no commercial buildings as welding is a major part of the foundation and structure. My career of choice is a diesel mechanic. I have wanted to be a diesel mechanic for my whole middle school and high school career. I want to do this job because I want to be like my uncle, he is the top diesel mechanic in the US. The thing that grabbed my interest is I like to work on things and fix things so I figured this would be a good job. I really do any concerns in getting my degree as a diesel mechanic. This job would money to keep my family alive and very well fed. I could also have a nice truck and side by side.
Pipefitting is a good trade; it is a very common job in Eastern Kentucky. It is fairly easy to become one in Kentucky. Most of the time a pipefitter is carrying on from his/her family, say that it has been going on for generations and they just keep it going.

It is going to be that way because every time something is built that has pipes a steamfitter is needed. The way the trend is going is to natural gas, which involves a pipeline which they will need steamfitters to make and fit up.Every fracking and oil rig they build they will need welders/steamfitters.In 2014 there were 42500 job openings in the US for welders/steamfitters. Welding is a excellent career choice for those who like to build things with their hands and have a strong attention to detail. It requires an extensive amount of knowledge and skill but for those who get a solid grasp of the respected trade they're rewarded with tremendous job opportunities and first-rate pay.
Being in this field is very complicated. I tend to have issues with the guys and sometimes when I am stressed out things start to get to me and cause me to do poorly. I have been told I should not be in this type of industry just because I am female. To tell the truth us women have all the right to be in welding as men do. I can get upset and some of the things the guys say do get to me. But, when I do weld it sometimes takes the stress and issues I have away. I forget most of my problems for a while and just feel like I am in my own world. Not every bead I run is perfect because I have some problems

I am interested in auto repair as a career because I love to work with my hands and I like taking on challenges. The collision industry is growing and it will only continue to grow, manufacturers will design new vehicles every year, keeping my job interesting, challenging and fun. What I hope to achieve in the collision industry is open a custom shop with my cousin, he is currently attending Lincoln tech to be a gas/diesel technician. I enlisted in the Texas Army National Guard after I turned 17; after I graduated high school in May 2012 I went to basic training and advanced individual training to be a machinist and welder. I returned home April 2013 not knowing what I wanted to do, even though I enjoyed welding I didn’t see myself as a welder for the rest of my life so I enrolled in Austin Community College to study criminal justice and started working security part time.

Pipelining is a very dangerous job and employers want new employees that have at least a year of experience that being an apprentice of a senior pipeline engineer or getting an internship at a company. Before becoming an apprentice, some people choose to enroll in a local community college or vocational school and begin doing coursework related to becoming an electrician. Everyone looking to become an electrician must complete certain coursework. Additionally, other people might work as an electrician's assistant before entering an apprenticeship program. That way, they gain insight into what the job entrails and are better prepared when they do become an apprentice.
