Hurricane Katrina was the third deadliest hurricane to hit in US history. (“Katrina Meteorology and Forecasting.”) The effects and aftermath of this terrible hurricane would impact people for a long time.

Hurricane Katrina was formed by tropical storms but previously thought to be a tropical depression. (“Katrina Meteorology and Forecasting.”) Tropical depression is when a low pressure area and is followed by thunderstorms with winds getting up to 39 MPH.
