Philosophies Reflection I wish to pursue the sports marketing side of the sports industry. I like the industry because it focuses on the promotion of the sports events and the teams as well as other products and services used throughout the sporting events and teams. It is used as a service to promote a physical product or brand. With that said I believe that I believe that the philosophies that best match the industry as well as my career are Existentialism, Pragmatism, and Humanism. Existentialism emphasizes the freedom of individuals to think as they choose and to make choices, but stresses that they must accept the consequences of their actions. It focuses on personal growth, self-actualization, and the development of values. Humanism considers the feelings, needs, goals, capabilities, and limitations of individuals. I believe that these philosophies fit the sports marketing industry, because the key points they focus on, and experiences, truth, and self-growth. I believe that in the sports marketing industry, it is necessary to incorporate and reflect truthfully on past experiences to grow and create beneficial experiences for the industry in the future. For me, I believe the philosophy that best fits me, is pragmatism. I think that each problem needs to thought of by itself. We can use the experience to help formulate a resolution that might work for the current situation based on past experiences, but it needs to be thought of as its own problem because it is going to be viewed differently by different people. Therefore, it is important to learn how to communicate and be considerate of others.
