Pharmacist Personal Statement

A professional career in pharmaceuticals has been a dream of mine for many years. Becoming a pharmacist peaked my interest because a pharmacist is a crucial factor in patient health care. A pharmacist must not only understand a medication’s purpose, but also recognize how that medication will react in an individual’s body and relay that information to the patient. These responsibilities of a pharmacist are important to a patient’s safety, and I am more than capable of accepting these responsibilities. Through high school and continuing into my secondary education, I have showed a repeated interest in chemistry, biology, and mathematics. Due to my success in my academics, I was able to help other succeed as well. Throughout my first year, I was able to tutor nine of my colleagues, and two of those colleagues were past/present members of the United States Armed Forces. Being able to assist others, and help them perform well is a reward in itself. An example of my determination for academic excellence can be seen in the summer between my freshman and sophomore years of my secondary education. During that summer, I took the initiative to take a five week summer course. The course that I enrolled in was Organic Chemistry 2, I well known course for its difficultly. My fellow colleagues were perplexed that I was able to take the course that early in my schooling, and perform extremely well. My academic success depicts more than the knowledge, it display my personal qualities and priorities. To obtain these grades it took discipline, hard work, and determination. At the age of fourteen, I had saved up enough money to purchase a lawn mower and weed trimmer. After I made those purchases, I went door-to-door in my neighborhood asking if anyone wanted their lawn cut. By the end of that year, I had two customers. Now, five years later my business has grown dramatically. I now care for thirty plus lawns, perform landscaping, and have a crew of three employees.
