So the government just gave the school a huge 1 million dollar grant for the school to do whatever with and the money will more than likely be wasted. But the money should be used to do more things like help with more activities and way better food choices so I guess we have no say in what goes on with that money it really sucks but maybe this letter will help. So first what you could do with the money is just buy a playground or basketball court outside kids like me and others would love that it would let gym do more things and kids can get out there energy be less talkative in class that what should happen for the first part.
Second the huge grant after that should be spent on better lunch choices the lunch at school are nasty and just gross
School funding is a recurring issue in the modern era. Debates ranging from give schools more money, to get rid of the system in place and reform a new idea have been plaguing the world over the years. “The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, signed in 2009, provided more than $100 billion in education aid to offset budget cuts..” (School Finance). Later, “Congress provided an additional $10 billion in 2010 to avert mass teacher layoffs (Education Week, "Total Recovery Act")” (School Funding). These numbers are just a sample of the struggles in school funding, that is costing a ton of money to keep afloat. “There are many ways schools fund varying from state to state and even school to school. Income taxes, corporate taxes, sales taxes, and other fees provide 48 percent of the elementary and secondary school funds. 44 percent of local districts draw money from local property taxes. The federal government makes up approximately 8 percent of state education budgets. These funds are a dealt out on a per-student basis, and categorically to ensure enough resources for each special program or facility” (School Funding). These funds play a huge role in every student's education, either positive or negative. The three main areas that need to be addressed in the school budget are extracurricular funding, building and equipment maintenance, and last but not least staff funding.
Schools are spending too much money with this program that could be spent on other benefits for schools. Rather than using the money to get students new technology or property it 's wasted on a lunch program that students do not enjoy nor want to purchase. In the Article, “School Lunch Food is Not Fresh, Students Say” Journalist Audrey Levine interviews high school students about they feel about their school lunches. “It’s way too expensive now, but I’m still buying,” said senior Stephanie Huang. “And I don’t think more people are bringing lunch because
I remember the first few days of move in. It was hot and gross. Georgia, Z, and Austin were the first to move in. The day the whole crew moved in was god damn shit show to say the least. I think I helped loft over half the floors' bed. The first house meeting was the only one with everyone there. I believe the first words out of my mouth were "Fuck It".
Dear Coquille School District, I am writing you in regards to extending the length of our lunch period. It is currently only 30 minutes long which does not give us, as students, enough time to eat lunch. Especially if you are like me, and like to go home to eat lunch with your family. In some families, the family members work long hours and they don’t necessarily get to see one another very often. If students were given enough time it is very possible that they could enjoy their lunch with family members and enjoy quality time with them..
Going to school is something that children do at a young age. The idea of school is ingrained into children at as early as six weeks of age in a daycare. As the child grows older they enter elementary school, middle school, and then high school. Within the schools there are students, administrative staff, nurses, volunteers, and of course teachers. Then questions are asked. What really is the purpose of school? How can a teacher gain student’s attention when they are thinking about things outside of school? How are the students different from one another? What determines between a good and bad teacher? How can character be successfully be integrated into schools? These are a few questions that were addressed in the book You Can’t Teach Through
I Anthony Jerome Mahan am writing this appeal letter in attempt to be reconsidered for readmission here at Ashford University. Subsequently, over the last several months I have been battling with internal triggers, such as anxiety, frustration, flashbacks and sadness that all relates to my Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) disability. Primarily, I have come to recognize that these internal triggers were offset by external triggers that referenced back to personal experiences that I endured in the United States Army. In particular, the division that I served in was the 82nd Airborne (Combat Engineering), and it required me to handle explosives, artillery, and the duty of jumping out of airplanes on a daily basis. Many (Numerous) Schools in Michigan have switched to year-round school. The state of Florida shouldn’t convert to year-round school. Countless kids attend summer jobs to pay for school. It would be really hard to attend their job for 2-weeks every 6-weeks. Other students attend sport’s teams and may cause mayhem for the student. The year-round school schedule will also make it hard for parents to find childcare or babysitters. Even though, many students and teachers less and spend less time reviewing material. The state of Florida shouldn’t switch to year round school there is no proof that it helps students academically.
The education system has been changing in recent years and the same problems that existed continue to get worse as years pass. Problems that were seen as minor at first have now grown. How to change the public higher education system has been a major topic of discussion but there has still been no major action taken. We struggle to figure out how much funding is needed for higher education and where it should come from. Our people continue to suffer from an underfunded high cost system. The wealthy minority of people continue to be the only ones accounted for and it is time to change this. We need to adapt to the changes and the costs that continue to rise. It is time to help the struggling middle and lower classes. I believe that the best
I'm not sure who to address but I thought the Mayor of our City, our District Supervisor and the Captain of my neighborhood's police station was a good start.
Writing is by far the most challenging course I’ve ever had. It is a combinations of grammars, dictions, and proper conjugation that when done correctly, produce a beautiful piece of language. I for one, did not do very well in my attempt to writing a beautiful language. Well according to JK Rowling, “one must fail in order to succeed”, her quote is kind of inspiring for me but the better question I have for her is how much do I have to fail to succeed? My writings are like sort of driving on a road that is full of holes and cracks. It is never smooth. But my writings process in response to the assignments that Professor Bever has given, made me realize about how I’ve become that better writer and preparing for the future. With the assignments I had received and the instructions on crafting a masterful piece of paper. I have made numerous
The youth of the nation are both the backbone and living representation of what the future will hold. A teacher once told me, that the reason why she teaches is because the knowledge she gives us will greatly affect the world and she hopes it is for a positive effect. Education is essential for a nation to survive and thrive. What that education consists of is determined by what society views as important for the future. Therefore, why is it that the government is more concerned about funding and the other nation 's views than on the young 's people is education. Terrell Bell said the reason for A Nation at Risk, was to convince the Regan administration that the Department of Education is necessary. A Nation at Risk was a masterpiece of propaganda
“Thomas Aquinas once wrote that it is better to know a little of what is important than a lot of what is unimportant” (Stancil, 252). Students should have a balance of street smarts and book smarts so they can be successful in whichever career they may choose. If the typical education focuses on teaching the students only certain areas they may or may not use, then how will the students be completely prepare for life? If education is supposed to prepare students for life, then can anyone really limit or define education? Kim Jones, a CEO who wrote an article on education, claims “Education does not have a single purpose; it serves multiple objectives, and the relative importance of each of these objectives can be very personal” (Forbes.com).
How many college students do you know that just attend college? Does nothing else no work and get their finances handled by parents? I say the chance are very low a college student is just a student. However, it is said that nearly half of all undergraduate students hold a job that is a lot no? So how is it that we are supposed to give almost 45 hours a week to just focus on school alone. Is that even possible? What happens to everything else we have going like working full/part time, having a family and relationships. Where do we fit all of it in to the little time we have day in and out?
Public schools are not in the business of making money. Their primary goal is to utilize the resources they are given efficiently, accounting for dollar spent. GRPS middle school athletics projects all of their expense in a worst case scenario. This allows the middle school athletics to properly forecast the budget just in case something goes wrong. The biggest expense for any organization is the cost of its employees. Employees include: Athletic Directors (management), coaches, officials, and game help. The second biggest cost is transporting teams to competition site locations. Properly utilizing donor funds has allowed the MS Athletics department to stretch grant dollars beyond the original date range. It has also instilled a sense of security within the donors, knowing that their money is not being
Education is one of the most important aspects of our society. By educating Americas youth we are molding the minds who are going to run and find new solutions to the problems are country faces today and for the future. However education, in general, is facing some serious problems. One of the most important aspects in running anything, including a school, is finances.
