The first reason why kids should have a summer break is because it is teachers and students need a break. According to Matthew Lynch, having extracurricular can put a lot of stress on students with all-year round schools. Likewise, teachers who have children that don’t go to year-round schools may find it hard to keep up with year round schools. Parents may also have trouble with helping their kids with things like studying for a test, with school all-year round and having to deal with work also (Lynch). As a student, summer vacations give us all a break that we need for a stress reliever. Not only is a stress reliever for kids, but also for parents. Having a summer break will be given more chances for kids to forget what they have learned from past years, being left behind next year. Kids turn off their brains, no summer boredom.
