Standardized tests, we start taking them in elementary school, we progress to tougher tests in high school to help us get into college, then there are even harder tests to help us get a job, but how useful, are they? Throughout elementary, middle, and high school they prepare us for these tests, students spend countless hours. As you will see in this paper these tests prepare you from elementary through high school and beyond.
All states in the United States have required standardized tests, in Michigan it’s the M-STEP or the TAKS in Texas. These start as early as Third grade and run through Eighth grade. Then everyone has to take the PSAT then the SAT or ACT. These tests teach you to use testing taking skills like crossing off answers you know that are not right. These tests are required to pass to graduate high school, and even in some places you are required to pass these tests to move on to the next grade. …show more content…
