While many people see them as the future, others see electric cars as a gimmick that is hurting the car market. Electric cars were first pushed to consumers as a green and a more economical choice. This fundamental idea is debated by many. Foremost, these cars are supposed to be better for the environment, as they release fewer greenhouse gasses over the whole life of the vehicle. An electric car releases less CO2 into the environment in day to day use.
