There are many types of pets--fish, hamsters, guinea pigs, chinchillas, rats, hedgehogs, bunnies, and others. Although there are many pet options, often times most people want either a cat or dog. While both pets have good qualities about them, I will argue that dogs a better pet than any others.

There are many deciding factors but one of the biggest is friendliness. Obviously when you are buying a pet you want it to be friendly especially as a family pet. When it comes down between pets usually cats and dogs are the competition. Cats are nice they will come and sit next to you but they won’t really show affection as much as dogs. Dogs will greet you at the door and wag their tails. When you sit down they will jump up next to you and cuddle with you then they will want to play.

When it comes down to appearance it is simply a matter of opinion so you want there to be a variety of options. There are about 343 breeds of dogs not to mention all the countless mixed breeds and mutts of all different sizes shapes and colors. While dogs have hundreds of breeds cats have about 43 different breeds and yes they do still have mixed and mutts but most cats are about the same size and the biggest difference you will see is fur colors and lengths. My case in point is that I can’t tell you which has a better appearance to but I can tell you that dogs have a much bigger variety and you are most likely to find a dog you
