Like every great thing that has been presented to the public some issues will arise that will contradict it. Pokémon Go is a great example of this, yes people have been getting hurt, maybe close to being killed but they brought that upon themselves. Pokémon Go is a way for people to go out and be active walking around exploring their town. With it you can meet new people who also enjoy playing Pokémon Go, people who were antisocial will become more comfortable going out and meeting new people. Some people may see Pokémon Go as a threat but I see it as a way of having a way to go out and playing a game where people can be getting exercise while they immerse themselves in their communities making new friends and having a good time. Pokémon Go is a way for businesses to get more people into their stores by dropping lure modules which are something in the game that is used to lure wild Pokémon to a certain poke-stop which in return gets payers to go because they want to catch as many Pokémon as they can. It is used by the local animal shelters to recruit potential volunteers, business also give out discounts to players of Pokémon Go, for example red robin gives people three dollars off your meal if you show your waiter your Pokédex. A Pokédex is a player’s Pokémon encyclopedia where they catalog every Pokémon that they have encountered and caught while playing Pokémon Go. People want to be the best Pokémon master so they think of ingénues ways of getting an edge on their competition it is making people think out of the box which is always a good thing sure it may lead to people doing some less than safe things but it is making people think. The game was designed by Nintendo to get gamers outside to experience their surroundings while finding Pokémon at geo-located sites. Two profound writers shared personal outlooks on the game in articles featured in the New York Times: Room for Debate. The first article “Resisting the Call of the Virtual” written by Louv gives citations from scientific research to target his intended audience by appealing to logos. The second article “Pokemon Go Connects Us to Our Cities and Neighbors” by Jeong uses heavy amounts of pathos to hook the audience into believing her claim that the game is full of good. Jeong accomplishes her rhetorical purpose more successfully than Louv because of the commanding appeal to pathos she creates as well as her ethos supported by first-hand game and research experience.
Just because someone is top of the class, graduated at a very wealthy, highly academic school they can still make foolish decisions. No matter the IQ or schooling it can't stop someone from being a fool. Chris McCandless was all of these things and had all the knowledge and preparation needed. Although Christopher McCandless embodied intelligence and impacted many lives, he made many foolish decisions that ultimately cost him his life and his family much undeserved pain.
As a member of the 8 year gaming community, I am proud to say I play Pokemon Go. Pokemon Go is a game where you walk around and capture these creatures with Pokeballs. Some members of the Game Center don't agree with the new augmented reality, and real world location applications because they find it dangerous. Lately, the news has been broadcasting players getting hurt, jumped, and even arrested. Very few players found themselves in car accidents, being lured into gunpoint robberies, or making irresponsible mistakes like leaving children unattended, bumping into people, and wandering into private property.
The more than four hundred locations that are currently recognized as national parks have been set aside because they are considered special places of beauty, character, or uniqueness. Whether visitors come from the natural state or the concrete jungle, the magnificent aesthetics of these sites can cause anyone to be astonished. As they ponder on the wonderful landscapes and the closeness to the wilderness, their souls are nourished. Some people acknowledge the planet or the creator, but all appreciate the splendor of biodiversity and gain a new understanding of it. According to Frye and Nuest, “watching other species and interacting with them helps [people] better understand and appreciate [their] place among them and [their] obligations to other living creatures and the same planetary environment that sustain both [their and the lives of other species]” (54). Furthermore, since these sites have been carefully preserved, they have undergone very little physical or geological change in centuries. The NPS claimed through its website that “by preserving biodiversity, [they] also ensure that future citizens, artists, and explorers of science experience [America’s] lands as the founders of the parks did long ago.” National parks allow visitors to relive scenes from the past and appreciate the nation’s history as expressed in these iconic sites. National Parks have awed tourists and even locals for years. They provide an escape from the ordinary and relief from the everyday stress of society. National Parks provide insight into a simpler time where our ancestors were surrounded by the beauty of nature instead of the concrete jungles of modern day metropolitan areas. Few of these wonderful parks provide the same seclusion as Denali National Park in Alaska. It’s sights and sounds have fascinated many and will continue to provide a great escape from everyday life.
Everyone Is A Monster In Frankenstein, Mary Shelley uses emotional intensity and nature as refuge as her main focus. She tells us that nobody is born a monster, it is society's personal view that makes you who you are. The Monster has been on his own ever since the beginning. We live in a world where being medicated has become a societal norm. Modern health care practices have set the stage for the proliferation of direct-to-consumer advertising (DTCA) of prescription drugs by pharmaceutical manufacturers. Some of these practices include the emergence of managed care organizations (MCOs), the legalization of DTCA of prescription drugs, the emergence of the Internet as an alternative promotional channel, the increased desire by patients to become more involved in their own health care decisions, the disillusionment with traditional medicine, and the rise of ‘alternative’ medicine, to name a few. There is an ongoing debate as to the ultimate harm or benefit of this relatively recent practice of pharmaceutical manufacturers to direct their promotional efforts away from the physician and towards the consumer.

There is so much to be discovered in our vast world of technology. Scientists and researchers work hard everyday to educate themselves and others on the advances capable of being achieved. There are people learning about new technology, different scientific and medical methods, and most of all medicine everyday. However, there is always a price to pay with hypotheses running their course through experiments, and that is the testing subject. Scientists feel the best choice for such research is to use animals to be tested, and that great achievements in the science world are worth it. Just as these scientists are, testing on innocent animals is completely wrong. Just because they are available for testing, and don’t have any ability to opt out in these experiments, does not mean they are right for the job.
Have you ever wondered how some athletes have gotten so good at a certain sport? Have you ever thought about what they did in order for them to get this good? For some the answer is simple; workout and train. But for others the answer is different; the use of performance enhancing drugs such as steroids. There are some people that argue that steroids should be legalized and allowed in professional sports. Other people argue that steroids should not be allowed. Today I am going to state my opinion and justify my reason. Steroids should not be allowed in professional sports because it can be very dangerous to the athlete’s health, it is a way to gain and un-fair advantage and it can be dangerous in both social and physical aspects.

But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that is it stupid.” Sir Ken Robinson stated that schools are destroying children 's creativity with their curriculum, there are many facts that support this idea. Students are required to think a specific way, prepare the way teachers want them to be prepared. Students also have their own opinion, because they are not afraid to be wrong, and need a way to move forward.
I should receive a passing grade in this class because I can write now. Not just an exaggeration, but after another semester of English I finally feel confident that can write. Three of the reasons behind my confidence is I learned, I experienced and best of all I repeated. These three values helped prepare me for what is in store in English 1302 and here is why.

Our planet is suffering from severe pollution, which ranges from contaminated air, water and soil as well. Humans are doing nothing to reduce the amount of pollution that is harming our earth. To understand how pollution works first you must understand that there are different types of pollution. The most common types of pollution and the ones that I will be focusing on which are the ones doing the most harm to our planet are air pollution, water pollution, soil contamination and littering. In order to help out and reduce pollution in our planet people need to be more aware of what these problems are and about the severe damages that they are causing our planet. Before industrialization really jumped into place and had an effect on large cities, nature had its own way of cleaning up its own air and itself. Wind scattered gases, rain washed many substances and the rest dissolved into the ground; while plants absorbed carbon dioxide and made it into oxygen. With big cities growing more every time and with more towns that were becoming more industrialized a lot of more waste began to be released into the environment and the atmosphere and soon this was more than enough for nature to handle. In order to stop and reduce pollution people need to understand the damage that it is causing our environment and our planet as well. People need to be more aware of how they can help out and do their part in reducing these problems that are causing our planet to die slowly with people not even noticing it.
