When you were little, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to be a veterinarian, but as I grew up and experienced new things, that changed. I was lucky that I discovered this before I went to college, but others aren’t so lucky. Many people spend thousands of dollars on a college degree only to discover later on that they want to change careers. Rather than spend a small fortune and years of time getting a new degree, people can go to a vocational or technical school. These schools are exactly what the people in this country need to get the jobs they deserve. Some of the best schools in this country are technical schools, and we need to stop telling our kids that a traditional college is the only way to a successful career. Although

The saw was factory fitted with sawdust extractor vents to eliminate the periodic manual removal although this system was not installed at the Warman workplace.

To start my project we first had to buy some supplies such as vinyl pads, rubber tips, 3ft long and ¾ in. wide dowelling and a 3ft, 1 ¼ in wide handrail. Then, we began making my cane. First, my grandpa explained to me what a table saw is and then demonstrated how I would be using it to make my handle. The first thing we did was set the miter gauge at 90 degrees and put a magnet block on the table vertically from the miter gauge and 4 ¼ in away. Now we turn the saw on. I have to firmly hold the handrail against the miter gauge and slide it over until it is against the magnet block. Next I slowly slide the miter gauge and handrail up going past the magnet block and then over the blades. Once my handrail is cut I can turn off the blades. After that we head over to the stationary sander with my 4 ¼ in handle. Before starting my grandpa instructs me on what it does, why we will be using i...

While many years ago, it was practical t o simply hire a crew of men to carry these objects off of the trucks, nowadays there is a much simpler solution. A pallet jack is a wonderful piece of machinery that allows you to save time and money. Pallet jacks can carry enormous loads off and on trucks. You've seen them in large and small warehouses, shipping loading docks, produce markets, basically, virtually anywhere where you need to move massive amounts of trucking cargo in the least amount of time possible.
This was my mistake. I jumped off in a rush and was quick to reach my hand back in between the cutting deck of the mower and the actual mower itself. After doing so, I had then came to the realization of the dangers being harnessed of the rapid revolutions of the pulley and belt system. Unfortunately, by the time I could pull my hand away it was too late. I felt a slight pinch, before brought my hand out I did not think it was that bad, but boy was I wrong. After pulling my hand out and seeing what felt like a never ending stream of red, and my finger tip dangling, connected only by a small piece of skin, I was in disbelief and shock. The pain had yet to hit me, but when I could finally mentally understand and comprehend the situation and that I actually just cut my finger tip off, I began to walk up to the house cupping one hand in the
I should receive a passing grade in this class because I can write now. Not just an exaggeration, but after another semester of English I finally feel confident that can write. Three of the reasons behind my confidence is I learned, I experienced and best of all I repeated. These three values helped prepare me for what is in store in English 1302 and here is why.
There is a massive amount of car accidents that occur every day, that consequently become fatal. In many cases, the driver and the passengers do not have on a seat belt to prevent them from being thrown out of the car or colliding with another car, causing them to be thrown against the dashboard or some other tragic accident. You may think that wearing a seatbelt is not trendy and you are only making a quick trip going down the street to the corner store, however, you cannot control others actions on the road anything can happen in the blink of an eye.
Regulation compliance, employee safety, fire safety, ergonomics, industrial hygiene, hazardous waste removal, training procedures, and management relations are samples of features taken into consideration during a Safety Major’s day. Though there are numerous specializations safety professions can choose, a base knowledge in all fields is essential for a successful career. Therefore, I intend to pursue a continuation of safety certifications that will demonstrate a persistent ability to learn about my career. For the initial duration of my profession, I hope to obtain an Environmental Health and Safety specialist entry level position for an established organization. If the opportunity arises, I will promote within the same organization until
...easure twice - cut once". If you follow this rule you will not waste your time and materials. Also it shows you are being careful and aware of what you are doing. When swinging your hammer "it's all in the wrist". People will tend to swing their hammer with their forearm or their whole arm. Good, experienced carpenters let their wrist do the swinging and their hammer do the work. Keep a sharp blade in your utility knife. Trying to cut with a dull blade isn't smart because you have to do twice the work. Also, before you walk away from it always check your work and make sure it is how it is supposed to be.
