Is it fair to have to take a course and pass a test to become a parent?
Does everybody have the capacity to become a parent? All people need to know the needs of babies. It is a great responsibility to have a baby and it will change your life. People who want to become parents need to inform themselves and they should focus on giving a better life to their children. Not everyone has the ability to care for a child correctly and not everyone has the essentials that are needed as food money home and provide love. There are people waiting to have children and give them all the best they can and there are parents who abuse their children. Women’s and men’s would have to have a license at the age when they have a job and can support themselves before they become parents or after having a child if they want to stay with the children. This is because not everyone has the budgets to take care of a baby. Also a lot of people just have a baby to get benefits from the government. Although parents nowadays claim that having a child is a natural part of every human’s life is clear there are those who disagree with these. According to family who are against this state that everyone should be parents even if they don’t have knowledge. In other words, these people believe that everyone should be parents without a license. I disagree with this parent’s view that everyone should become a parent whenever they want because there have been cases showing that some people mistreat their kids or abuse of them emotional, sexually and physically. Parents who disagree with this idea are right to argue that having a child is a natural part of human’s life, but they exaggerate when they claim that everyone should have a kid even if they don’t have the budgets. This is a problem because there are many kids suffering because some parents abuse the children or the parents are not mentally and economically stable to afford the best care for the kid. In Hugh Lafollette’s paper, “Licensing Parents” he talks about the need for government licensing of parents. His argument states that for any activity that is harmful to others, requires competence, and has a reliable procedure for determining competence, should require licensing by the government. This argument relates to parenting because it can be harmful to children, requires competence to raise those children, and we can assume that a reliable procedure can be formulated. Therefore, parenting should require licensing by the government. I agree with Lafollette and shall focus on supporting him by addressing the most practical objections: There is no reliable procedure for identifying competent parents and it is impossible to reasonably enforce parent regulations. I shall address these objections and their reasoning, followed by responses that Lafollette and myself would most likely have, thereby refuting the objections.

Ladies and gentlemen, good morning. Adoption recently has caused a hot-spot debate in Australia . Mr Rudd just argued that we should maintain the policy but I don’t agree with him. I am sure many of you are not satisfied with the current situation because we all clear this is not a great one. Adoption is so important because it is a way to change children’s lives. This debate is not about me and Mr Rudd; it’s about you and these children so you should make the best choice. For too long this policy has been disadvantaged to the children who are adopted or going to be adopted and those foster families. It’s the time to change. Relaxing the regulation of adoption within Australia and from overseas will be one of the liberal party’s aiming next term if I get your support. And let me tell you why choosing to relax adoption’s regulation is stepping up in the right direction to change.
For years there have been an excessive number of children in and out of the foster system. Quite a few children have succeeded; however, other children have not. A few children have looked to drugs, alcohol and violence to cope with what they have gone through and/or what they are currently going through. A number of those children ended up in a juvenile detention center or prison for breaking the law. Foster parents are desperately needed to help these children succeed in life and make it through this terrible time.

The United States is one of three industrialized countries that do not have policies put in place that mandate companies to provide paid parental leave. In 1993, U.S President, Bill Clinton, enacted the family and medical leave act (FMLA) which allows for employees to take unpaid, job-protected leave for up to twelve weeks for medical reasons if their employer has more than fifty employees employed at the company. Single Parent Struggle For many years, children growing up in a single parent family have been viewed as different. Being raised by only one parent seems impossible to many yet over the decades it has become more prevalent. Being a single mother is typically the new norm. Mothers believe they can be both the mother and the father. That’s like saying if you have legs you should run track. While yes you may have the ability to run and it may present good benefits to your health, if you don’t want to, you shouldn’t feel forced. And judging from the 50,000 cases of child abuse in the U.S. each year, some are worse than terrible.” Not every woman is cut out to be a mother because at the end of the day, you have to be willing to put your needs on hold for the sake of your child, and not everyone is capable of doing so. There are many different areas to consider when preparing for and having a newborn. Whether the pregnancy was planned or unplanned or the couple is married or not, a newborn baby brings new responsibilities. Having a baby also forces people to make adjustments both financially and within the family. Parents also express concerns and expectations when having a newborn comma especially when it is their first; including what roles each parent and family member should play, how much confidence they have in their parenting skills, and how much financial strain would be placed on the family once the newborn has arrived. The responsibility of being pregnant is surely not as sever as actually having a baby but it is truly a preparation course. I feel almost scared when I go to the doctor. I keep close eyes on my food intake and eating habits, so that I can have enough supplements for both of us. I have to keep my baby safe because she can not do it on her own. I have to prepare myself for life with my baby; it is not only a mind set but also a physical one. I have to be prepared to make sacrifice and present stability in a child’s life even though I am still young. I have to face responsibility and understand it and achieve it.
