Education is a huge topic of controversy, society is always trying to reform what we know as education today. Right now, the first 12 years of education are entirely free for students directly, but in the end are paid for by the taxpayers of the town. The question is, why should only grades k-12 be free why not a college education too? On the other hand, there are some exceptions to free schooling at the k-12 levels. The most prominent being, Private schooling, most towns in the United States have at least one if not many private schools. They require a certain amount in tuition for each of its students every year. An example of this, in my town Salem, NH one of the most known private catholic schools is St. Joseph 's. Playing a school sport enables you to bond with your teammates, making lifelong friends. Sports are fun and thrilling; they help kids get into shape. Benjamin Franklin once stated “Those who surrender freedom for security will not have, nor do they deserve, either one.”
Success isn’t given, it’s earned on the track, on the field, and in the gym with blood, sweat, and the occasional fear” -Unknown. This is relevant because it is hard for students to want to play sports but also to do well in school. If high school students can’t find the time to keep their grades up or to keep a certain GPA, they should not be allowed to play sports. Students need to prove themselves to be able to play any sport and still be able to do well in school. Also, having good grades shows the coach maturity and may earn them more playing time if they are working hard in school and in practice.
Although the living conditions of children are getting lot better than when we were kids, the children study more time than we did. The pupils have to get up at earlier than 7 o 'clock to make sure they won’t be late for school. Not only have that, these pupils still had to participate in various after school program, and a lot of variety of training during the weekends. The most pressure is homework. As a summer school teacher, I always can hear kids say that the teacher gave them too much work, had to spend two hours a day to compete the homework, and have no time to play. Is it too much pressure for the kids? That is the question for most of the parents. What should the parents as should do to let these children relax and do not have that much pressure? The author of Help Children Form Good Study Habit, Erika A.Patall points out those parents should not help children do their homework because they need their own practice. Not only that, the author of The

Have you ever wondered how some athletes have gotten so good at a certain sport? Have you ever thought about what they did in order for them to get this good? For some the answer is simple; workout and train. But for others the answer is different; the use of performance enhancing drugs such as steroids. There are some people that argue that steroids should be legalized and allowed in professional sports. Other people argue that steroids should not be allowed. Today I am going to state my opinion and justify my reason. Steroids should not be allowed in professional sports because it can be very dangerous to the athlete’s health, it is a way to gain and un-fair advantage and it can be dangerous in both social and physical aspects.
Community colleges in California should offer two years of free education to students that are responsible. First, by making community college free for two years, struggling low income families can get a two year education at their local community college. By going to a free college people can save money for two years and transfer out to a better college with the money that they have saved. More student will switch from expensive colleges, and come to a less expensive college and acquire their Associate's degree. Next, some of the students will realize that they are going to graduate from an expensive college, and they are going to leave with a diploma and a huge debt in loans. Some people just need an Associate's Degree to get the job that they want and people can get that in two years. For example to become a police officer, people need an Associate's degree, and be twenty one years of age. Last, the crime in the cities will be reduced if community colleges would offer free education. Most people that are in the streets doing bad things are the ones who dropped out of high school because college was going to be too
(“Athletic scholarships”). After receiving a scholarship, athletes must maintain a 3.5 gpa to stay on the team. If grades fall, you will get kicked off the team and not be able to return until you get your grades up and try out the following year. People with average grades can get a scholarship too. You do not have to be the best person in your class but, good grades help a lot and looks better on your tryout form.
Imagine dedicating your life to a university not only on the academic level, but also the athletic level. With a full scholarship your time is dedicated to getting to class on time, finishing assignments, and making it to mandatory practices while also maintaining a strict workout schedule. With your day pretty much full of responsibilities, you do not have the time for a job to pay for anything that you may need outside of tuition, books, and housing. If your car breaks down or you run out of gas you have to pay for that out of your own pocket which is fairly difficult when you do not have an income to cover the costs and if you accept money or free services from any businesses, you could lose you eligibility as a NCAA athlete and lose your
If children were given a diploma for just showing up for school, they would learn nothing or goof off all day, rather than work hard to achieve their goals. This same principle applies to sports, rewarding children as long as they sign up, without actually making them work hard or be a team player. Many people share this same view on the subject as is represented in the data interpreted from the table on source
Sports can help many at- risk youths. In order to participate in sports you need to be committed and willing to work hard. You also have to learn to respect others and accept that winning isn’t the only measure of success. Losing can build character as well. When youth participate in a sports they enjoy, they are less likely to engage in behaviors that are harmful or dangerous to themselves and others. It is for these reasons schools should strive to maintain athletic programs for their students.
I should receive a passing grade in this class because I can write now. Not just an exaggeration, but after another semester of English I finally feel confident that can write. Three of the reasons behind my confidence is I learned, I experienced and best of all I repeated. These three values helped prepare me for what is in store in English 1302 and here is why.
