Climate change is a dilemma in which anticipated too long to resolve, Earth will forever be damaged; bringing life on Earth to a permanent transition in an unfavorable state. With many contributing factors to climate change, humans have generated numerous amounts of damage, rather than showing an effort to save the atmosphere. Surprisingly, climate change is a contributing factor on human lifespan, potentially lowering the average amount of time each human spends on Earth. On the contrary, many organizations like Greenpeace have scrutinized climate change and found affordable ways in cleaning our environment. Solutions of climate change result in an expensive and unhandy situation to many governments, as a result of the previous investment in fossil fuels, which is 100 times as expensive as the amount of climate change resolution costs. Essentially, $100 billion is entailed for climate change solutions, conversely $1 trillion is being invested in fossil fuel use (Van den Berg 16-17). Jobs are another key component in the matter of climate change resolutions, which affects the lives of millions of people all over the world. Although the extraction of fossil fuels provides jobs to millions globally, climate change resolutions can create just as many. Likewise, new jobs can be created by offshore windmills, possibly creating a local supply chain (Sauven). The consequences as the result of the earth warming up cannot be ignored any longer. We need to stop wasting our time debating if climate change is man-made or a natural phenomenon. It is clear to me, and many scientists, that we are slowly killing our planet and all its inhabitants (human and non-human animals). Through the last century, industrialization has revolutionized the world, in all aspects of life from comfort to industry. While this has obviously had its benefits, it has also created a world that is almost entirely dependent on carbon dioxide producing technology. This has caused the single biggest problem when it comes to curbing this issue known as climate change. That problem is the simple fact that in order for the people to make a positive unified change in the C02 levels they produce, they’re going to have to make sacrifices. These sacrifices range from giving up or reducing their use of various CO2 producing technologies, to paying new taxes such as carbon taxes. The causes for Climate Change and the lack of action to curb it are, of course, complex, but there are at least three significant factors: High prices required to produce and implement low-carbon technology; lack of political and corporate support; and an extensive public reliance on technology (Weeks). Reducing climate change is going to take years and so nothing is going to get fixed anytime soon, but meanwhile we can use that extra money to begin cleaning up the atmosphere.
