Think about the word gay. What does that mean to you? Do you feel angry when you hear that word? Or do you feel happy?There are so many people today suffering in the world because of the word gay. Some people feel that being gay is a sin or something that shouldn’t be in the world. However, there are some people that support gay people and don’t mind them being in the world. It wasn’t a person’s choice to become gay. They didn’t just wake up one morning saying “I want to be gay”. Gays also feel scared to be themselves in the world. Nobody should be afraid to express themselves. Especially if you have something in your life that you need to get off your chest. For example, coming out gay to friends and family. Gay people have such a hard time going out into the real world letting people know that they are gay because of all of the criticism in this world. Most gays have to hide behind their true selves because they don’t want to be rejected a home, job or receive dirty looks for. They should be able to go out whenever they like and be able to be who they are and not be afraid to show it. So next time you go to call one of them a fruit, a dike, or a queer think about how that would make you feel and then maybe you won’t say it. No gay person should feel like they need to hide their sexuality because that wasn’t their choice. Also, they definitely should never get bullied because of it.
