Why I Want to Teach My choice to become a teacher is one that I always felt in my heart. As a child I always looked up to my teachers with such admiration. My elementary teachers had a way about them, they would teach us content as teachers are supposed to do but, at the same time they had this loving atmosphere about them. When you walked into their classroom you knew that you were loved no matter what. As a child this meant a lot to me because I was a child of a single mother who was always busy with work or other household duties. So being able to have that loving atmosphere at school with teachers who genuinely cared about me and what I had to say was very important to me and it has had a lasting impression on me.
