Highly conscientious and exceedingly motivated, as the success with my creative practice and first class degree demonstrates; my positivity and open-minded attitude enables me to easily interact with anyone and to successfully work as part of a team. Additionally, my disciplined focus enables me to achieve high levels of productivity and to problem solve with creative strategic thinking. I am currently seeking a creative and flexible role to more thoroughly utilise my wide-ranging skillset and to support the completion period of my online postgraduate studies, which have enabled me to developed such an expansive expertise.

The final portfolio is, in a sense, my final performance. It demonstrates the ablities I have gained in continuously practicing certain writing habits. Just as I worked to improve certain aspects of my music which demand my focus, I worked to gain vital abilities for my writing. As I "sit on the stage" and play my piece to demonstrate what I have accomplished in my music, this portfolio functions as an example of what I have accomplished in my writing this quarter in English 131
Portfolios have long been used in some professions to showcase professional work and skill. In education, portfolios have also been used for assessment, including self-assessment (Lankes 1995; Pond et al. 1998). Both career portfolios and career passports reflect this dual focus—students assess themselves in the process of developing a product, and the resulting product showcases and documents their experiences and skills. A distinction is sometimes drawn between a portfolio as developmental and a passport as summative (Bridging the Gap 1993). With portfolios, more emphasis is put on the developmental process of self-assessment, planning, and goal-setting; with passports, more emphasis is put on the final product that sums up the results of the process and communicates them to others.

Being a global citizen in the world of advanced technology can be beneficial to an individual’s success. The development an identity as a global citizen translates to being able to command and utilize resources, which include, but are not limited to modern intelligence, communication, and transportation technologies. Knowledge and know-how in terms of these technologies bolsters one’s capability in connecting with not only with friends and family, but the business industry, the workforce, educational industries, and a wide range of global capacities. If one were to ask my friends to describe me they would describe me as a very pleasant, diverse, active and intelligent woman. I think one of my most distinguishing characteristics is the diversity of experiences I possess. I am a science student with a flair for the arts. I am a woman with technical aptitude and an interest in management. I also have a passion for traveling and understanding different cultures of the world. All these elements have given me a very broad outlook, with varying degrees of knowledge in a range of topics. I strongly believe that although some are not related directly, all these qualities will influence my graduate work.
I consider myself to be creative. I am a henna artist and my interest in henna art and makeup has developed over the years. I am also gaining my qualification as a makeup artist at West Thames College. Being able to work as a team in the collage and interact with other people from different cultures and background has enhanced my communication skills. Ice skating and swimming allowed me to do something I really enjoy.
As I look into the near future, I cannot help but find myself nervously awaiting the arrival of my field practicum. The process of getting to this point has been long, and even though I feel as though I am ready, there is always the constant fear of the unknown. I am sure my classmates are also feeling the pressure that I find myself under. However, I believe we are all ready to take the next step. It is time for us to utilize our skills, face our challenges, and prepare ourselves for the upcoming practicum.
They panic because they realize they must make a decision that will affect the rest of their lives. Visual art majors have no need to panic because they have been waiting for this time for their entire lives. This is now the time they get to shine, and get to do what they have dreamed about. Although visual art majors still have stress concerning deadlines for college applications, they have planned for application season ever since they have picked up their creative utensils. With the portfolio these creative seniors get to rest easy knowing that they have worked years perfecting their trade and now they get to share their talents with the world. The portfolio no doubt is an essential part of receiving acceptance into prestigious art programs around the globe and if put together correctly will without a doubt result in a sparkling acceptance
Achievements and accomplishments help people prepare for the future and gives them the skills they need to help serve their community. It is important for people to have accomplishments and achievements because it helps them succeed in life. My participation in Student Council, band, and making good grades are my most meaningful accomplishments and they have given me the aid I need to prepare for my future field of study and the opportunity for me to serve my community.
Although I am a hard worker, I do enjoy having fun and trying new things. I am always looking for a new artist to see live or a new restaurant to eat at. I try to travel and go to festivals as much as my wallet permits me to. I strongly believe doing what is considered fun to you is when you are most present and happy. Artisans are competitive, impulsive, and adaptable. They are also too nice for their own good. Generosity and compassion are my favorite traits about myself however, at times I find it can only put me in a bad position or out of luck. Artisans also don’t enjoy being confined. They do what they want, when they want. Here again, I see the results to be very in line with my personality. I do not enjoy being bound down. I like to think for myself and do what I want to do. This definitely relates to more of the relationships in my life. Lastly, the ideal job for me would be a job where I have the freedom to “gather observations, collections of facts, and set of skills in order to do your work.” Overall, I found my results to be very on point with my actually personality. It was a tad creepy however amusing to read and relate
Writing a personal statement can be a daunting task. A personal statement is unique to each person. “A personal statement is usually requested when applying for scholarships and graduate school.” Also certain type of jobs such as competitive teaching and research appointments in education, for positions with non-profit organizations, or for internship applications require a personal statement. (“Personal Statements”) So a good personal statement is very important. There things that must be done in order to have a good personal statement. Before writing a personal statement a [person] should at least know what one is and its purpose. The University of Washington says that “a personal statement is a writing sample describing [someone] at [their] best, [their] reasons for choosing the field [they] have chosen, [their] research interests, [their] objectives, and the unique ways [they] can contribute to the program or organization to which [they] are applying. Its purpose is to communicate five things: writing abilities, connections, [their] philosophy, what makes [them] unique, and how [they] can be an asset.” (“Personal Statements”) There is one other thing to remember when writing a personal statement. It is to keep it professional.
The mind must never be kept idle because of its tremendous capacity to absorb and learn. After careful consideration of my aptitude, interests and experiences gained while pursuing my under graduation in the field of Computer Science and Engineering, I have decided to pursue my Masters in the field of Computer Science. Being a dynamic and ever evolving field, many new developments are expected and there is immense scope for research on new products and applications. To progress and make a mark in this field, I realize that it is important for me to pursue my Masters from a reputable university. I have always dreamt of taking up research.
This chapter discussed the reflection on the project and the wider implications of the project, and demonstrated the reflection on the MA experience. In a word, the major project and the MA experience gave me an extraordinary chance to carry on the higher education and learn new and advanced learning skills.
Since graduating I have worked on a diverse range of creative projects, some of which were acquired though Go Wales (University Careers) and the WCVA (National Voluntary Sector Agency), while others were self sort enabling me to utilise and expand on my creative, organisational and software skills. As a designer, I have assisted on a variety of publications and marketing materials for organisations such as Age Concern and Cardiff University Careers Service, furnishing me with practical design and software experience and improving my written and verbal communication skills as well as providing me with an insight into working with different types of clients.
