As I waited in line for the haunted walkthrough my heart felt like it was coming out of my chest. As I got closer to the front I could hear the screams of the workers and the guests. I stepped in and was shook by the loud music that was playing, now I can’t even hear myself think. As i walked through, the tension grew greater every time I turned a creepy corner, where I thought someone was waiting to scare me out of my skin. Most of the time though, there were people dressed up as fiction characters screaming in my face making me jump. It felt like this went on forever as there were so many twists and turns to walk through. Then, we went through a part of the house that used some sort of inflatable which pushed on both sides of you. Me, scared of what's to come, I ended up crawling on the ground. This was much worse than walking because the ground was made up of rocks. As we reached the end of the walk-through I could see the light which was a huge relief. When I got out, it wasn’t where I came from, it was a door to another haunted house. Why many people pay to go back to where they just got scared is unusual, but there is an actual reason for this allure of fear when being scared over and over again. ...ey walk out of a haunted house, ensuring that it is going to be a scary one. Nowadays it’s hard to find a place to go to on Halloween that isn’t overplayed and not scary at all, but there is a place and its Universal Studios.
Everyone was here, mom, dad, siblings, they called for me knowing I was the only survivor of this house of horrors. I knew the monsters that laid beneath the house. I enlisted the help of Brucie a few months ago, she was here to repair this broken home, and guide the spirits to their rightful place. Earth isn't for the dead, yet they are still here acting as though they're alive and they didn't die three long years ago. When the house is silent you can hear the organ being oh so gracefully played.

This leads to one final pinnacle when the narrator 'screamed…thrice,' showing us one final time that he cannot cope with what he cannot explain and his veneer of pragmatism and civilization has been ripped away from him. Consequently when he wakes up in daylight the next morning in the original room his tone changes from what it was at the beginning of the tale. At the start we saw how his tone was confident and somewhat patronising towards the custodians, almost challenging a 'tangible' ghost. However the first thing he said the next morning is, "'Yes' said I, 'the room is haunted."
I heard a blood-curdling scream and I jumped. I felt silent tears running down my heavily scarred face, but they weren’t out of sadness. Mostly. They were a mixture of pain and fear. I ran into the eerie, blood-splattered room and screamed as I felt cold fingers grab my neck. Before that night, I didn’t believe in the paranormal. Now I sure as heck do. I had been chased out of my house after a fight with my step-parents because I wasn’t doing well in school (I had dyslexia), and I had taken shelter in what seemed like a normal house. I realized what I had gotten into after the sun set. The doors locked without a sign of anyone going near them. A cold draft filled the room I was in. The house turned into a horrific scene, and I knew I would never get out alive. It was the Asylum. There’s a rumor in our town, a rumor that started when someone made the observation that everyone fit in. No one was considered strange, homeless, an outsider. That doesn’t seem possible, you think. In my town, there are tons of people with no homes, or people that don’t belong, you think. Well, think again. Those homeless people? Think about how many there are. They fit in with each other. I awoke, frightened and alone, with a monster standing beside my bed. Although my body was paralyzed with fear, my mind was awake, trying to figure out how this hideous creature could have found me. As I gazed into the hypnotizing, dark eyes of this giant, the room altered, and I found myself, once again, in the basement of my father’s house. Surrounded with medical equipment, a rush of adrenaline pulsed through my tired body, forcing it awake. The monster walked slowly through the room, dragging his long, boney finger along the table. I remembered this basement very well, as I spent a great deal of time occupying it; however, there was something different, something was missing, something had changed. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. Before I could spot the difference, an odd aroma began filling the air, making it somewhat difficult to breathe. I had thought about staying away, changing my mind several times. But I knew I couldn't. As I entered the hall, I jostled my way through the crowd of people talking in whispers. I approached the large, wooden coffin in front of me. The people around it saw me and quickly shuffled away.
I went downstairs and to my surprise, the house was completely dark. Windows closed and curtained, not a sound could be heard. I silently walked down the stairway. Every step I took created a creaky sound of the wooden steps. I just looked down towards the hallway and saw two glooming red eyes in the dark. I was horrified. As I reached in the main room, everyone screamed and scared the hell out of me! They turned on the lights.
As the two stepped inside, the door creaked shut behind them with an unsettling "thunk" that echoed down into the stairway. At first they could barely see, the hall nothing more than a dark hollow before them with only the fat candles on the walls to light the way. They stood squinting into the blackness, smelling musty earth, cold and the damp, unable to take even one step forward. But in a few moments their eyes adjusted and they could faintly make out the line of the stairs heading almost straight down.
It's exciting, anxiously looking for ghosts, but also scary. It is eerie and I can feel goosebumps marching down my arms, but I don't run down. Then I spot something on the ground. I kneel down and pull out a large book from under a large, faded sheet. It's a photo album.
Every bit of my emasculated body ached in torment. My stomach gripped in protest, as I screamed in dismay. I could here footsteps echoing in the abyss that lay outside the oak door. It was coming. All the hope I had drained away, and utter fear settled in.

As I slowly climbed the long, steep staircase, the only sound was my labored breathing and the mournful creak of the wooden stairs. A terrible sickening fear came over me. This was a place where has the dirty wall of spider web; the cement floor without tiles; the unstable water temperature of the bathroom in winter; and the smelly domestic animals in the backyard?
