I remember when summer was three months full of free time and having fun with your friends but as we grow up those days seem to thin out! This summer went by really fast for me. It seems like just yesterday we were finishing up the last day of my junior year. Although my summer was super busy I still had a pretty good time!
With my busy summer, I made new friends and was able to travel to some new places! I played on an AAU summer basketball where I met new friends and made some pretty unforgettable memories. We traveled to places like Minneapolis and we even played in a tournament in Kansas City! Although basketball took up a huge part of my summer, the rest of it was almost always busy with work. I put up fence with Seth Olson and Eli Livermont
Summer is time for friends, relaxation, and memories, but my summer was none of that. Summer going into freshman year was not the best because of school. Well even before I went into high school I heard stories from my cousins and other students about bullying and being thrown a penny at because I would be freshman. I was frightened for a whole month before school started. I remember asking my cousin how did he deal with all of that in school and he said “just collect all the pennies and save them and let the bullies beat you up”. You might think i was overreacting unless if you heard the way he was saying it. Walking into the hallways of Buffalo grove high school scared and cautious I enter my classroom, looking left and right,
Over spring break, I mostly played games with my family. Me and my family went to an amusement park in Arizona for my sisters birthday. Next we went home and me and my sister played games and watched Tv for a week. Every morning that my dad went to work, I had to get up early and go to the gym with him, so I almost never got to sleep in. One Saturday he was off, me, my sister, and my cousin went with him to a renaissance fair. When we were there we got to look at all the medieval shops and trinkets. There were also shows and games we could play. The day before, we went to an amazing horse and acrobatic show. They even flooded the stage where the actors were and made them dance in water. It was very fancy and we had a lot of fun. The next week
The summer started off like any other 8th grader’s summer. I was 13 years old and had just graduated from middle school. Graduating meant that I would be
Once the holiday season is over with, things usually slow down a bit at home. It is cold outside, it gets dark out early, and it leaves you with plenty of time to pack. The summer is filled with many outdoor activities, more sunlight during the day, and time spent having fun with friends in family. The extra time in the evening could mean that you will focus on
If you attend summer school you have to attend three months of school and get nine months off. Another great thing about attending summer school is that you have more time to enjoy the holidays with your family and friends Those three things I just listed are amazing opportunities and who wouldn’t want to take advantage of these great things.
Unlike during school years, “there are many skills student acquire during the summer at a faster rate” (Studebaker). With more time in their hand, they can polish their interests and become a professional. School usually does not have many activities so, summer break is the opportunity to try them out. Brittany Chu voices students’ thought:
Summer vacation. For most children and teens, the phrase conjures up images of hot, sunny days and vacations with the whole family to far-off places. We all envision lazy afternoons relaxing on the beach, playing in water parks, and going on picnics. But what happens when summer ends and the reality of another year of school sinks in?
For some, the summer coming to a close is devastating but for my friends and I the fun has just begun. Last summer I had decided I wanted to play high school volleyball, in which means that I really need to go to open gyms and the big volleyball camp that the whole team goes to in order to prepare for the season. The volleyball camp this year was at Saginaw Valley State University (SVSU) the camp was a 4 day camp and we got to stay in the dorms. Being able to stay in the dorms and have some freedom was really exciting for Adrianna, Emma, Emma and I, since we have never done anything like that before. But it was kind of nerve racking because all of the sophomore girls told us how bad the camp at LSSU (Lake
You have enjoyed bonding with your child from the moment they were born so why miss out during the summer. Children love the bonding just as much as you do and summer camp takes away from this. When your child goes to a summer camp, they can be miles and miles away from you. They are in the care of complete strangers and are in groups of children who they have never met in their life. Instead of being away with these strangers, you could be spending those weeks bonding with your child. You could have your own summer adventure with your child by fishing or even camping in your backyard. When I was younger, summer was coming up and all my friends were talking about going to camp. For me, camp was a scary thing to think about. I adored my parents and I wanted to stay with them as often as I could. Instead of sending my brother and I to a camp far away, my parents crated the summer of a lifetime for us. We went fishing, we traveled to the mountains and learned about the Cherokee Indians
My perfect fall day would take place on a cool, Saturday evening in October.I would wake up in the morning. Then i would eat some pancake and then i would take a shower, put on some clothes.I would talk to my mom,my grandmother, and my sister and we would laugh, talk.I would check social media and look at pictures and text my friends back.i would ask my mom ¨ Can i go outside¨ i asked, she would said ¨Have you finish your homework¨ she said, ¨yes, now can i go outside¨ i asked,¨yes, but ask your sister if she want to go outside too¨ she said,¨okay¨.Then i go outside and play with my friends,my friend would tell a joke ¨laughs¨.Then i would go back in the house and take a shower. Then i would check my social media, and do my streaks. Then when my sister
I am by myself wearing my blue jeans and an old flannel shirt. It is cool outside but I decided to leave my gloves at home, feeling comfortable with my warm shirt and my sturdy boots.
Away for the summer, and swimming every day. During the summer of my sophomore year I went to the warm and humid Baltimore City. This summer I spent a great deal learning about myself and the world around me. For starters, I spent it with my Aunt Amy and Uncle Joe, and pretty much spent no time with my own inclosed family (excluding my sister who was there).
Remembering to do homework has always been very hard for me. Using my agenda, the one that the school gives me, was never easy. I’d always forget about it. Because I’d forget, a normal day after school would go something like this:
The light from the sun reflects off the pure white wall, illuminating the room. The dust floats, undisturbed by the empty house. This is what I see as I launch myself out the door, into the hot summer air, into the sounds of playing children.
The summer after fifth grade was a big summer for me. I felt all powerful since I would be entering the Middle School in three months. I had no idea that not everyone felt that I knew everything in the world.
