My FFA journey all started in seventh grade when my mother was pressing me to join some type of club or organization. Initially, the thought of joining a club seemed humdrum, but the meeting ended up being the exact opposite. During that meeting we engaged in intriguing activities revolved around nature and science. Those meetings were led by Redding Middle School’s astonishing Chapter Advisor, Mrs. Kirk. She also showed us pictures of her previous members, who have excelled to high heights in the program. My admiration for nature and science reassured me that FFA was the club for me.
It's hard for me to say where I'll be in the years to come, already my life has strayed from the path I once thought it would follow. However, that doesn't change my motivation or determination to reach and excel at my personal goals. My whole life I've endured a system that dictated what should be important to me, and while it's helped me learn the practical skills I need outside of an academic setting, I have a passion to grow further from what's expected of me, and so with much enthusiasm I look forward to attending college in which I hope to achieve more by constantly learning and expanding my personal knowledge.
When I was a young girl, my older brother always did very well in school and he and the rest of our family were always very proud of his work. As I grew older and noticed all of my brother’s achievements I decided that I wanted to not only achieve what he had, but to also achieve things that he had not. Because of this strive to reach and surpass the standards that my brother had set, I developed into a person with great determination. Throughout my life I have always set goals for myself and then did everything I could in order to meet those goals. They launched the Seeds of Hope organization they raised 835,699 dollars in donations to help rebuild chapters, and help farmers. Seeds of Hope helped the FFA foundation break $10 million in raising money for FFA programs and services Ford motor companies would contribute $1 million the next year. National Convention was moved to Indianapolis Indiana. In 2007 FFA Merchandise Center opens its doors in Indianapolis Indiana. In addition to FFA, I am a member of Phi Theta Kappa at my college, serve as a Youth Ambassador promoting the Florida State Fair, and am a member of the Junior Board of the Central Florida Fair as a collegiate student where I help to plan activities for the fair’s activities throughout the year that are helping me give back to the agricultural community and develop my skills in agricultural
As you walk to the other end of the stage and look out into the sea of blue and gold corduroy, you realize this it! This is the moment you’ve worked toward for the last four years. You’ve stayed long hours after school working on you record book, spent grueling hours memorizing speeches, experienced the joy of winning first place at a state CDE contest, and best of all you met so many amazing people and doors were opened to opportunities you never imagined. Finally, after all of your hard work, you’re receiving your State FFA Degree! All of this from making one simple decision your freshman year of high school, signing up for the FFA. What you didn’t realize at the time was that this wonderful organization would help you build leadership skills and teach life skills that you are going to need in the coming years.
The FFA organization provides members with many chances to meet new people and make valuable connections through the various events chapters and associations hold. Meetings, activities, contests, and conventions are a few of many examples of occasions where members are able to meet with other members, inspiring leaders, and even potential employers. As Bender and Taylor mention in “The FFA and You”, the most important way to be a good member and get the most out of the organization is to participate (Bender and Taylor 19). High school can be a very terrifying and a frustrating place to cope with. Students have to worry about fitting in and finding somewhere they truly belong. In order to find that place of belonging students can join clubs and interact with other students with the same interests as them. Clubs help students not only make lifelong friendships, but also develop skills they can take with them throughout their life and career. Although many high school clubs have proved to be a good experience in a student’s high school career, The National FFA Organization (FFA) serves many great purposes for students making it the most effective high school club because it develops student’s potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success.
I joined FFA because I was excited for the adventure ahead. I remember I was a freshman who signed up for every event I could because I wanted to skip school; however, in doing this I struggled in school because I wanted to be with FFA instead of school. The big mistake was I would sign up for events that I wasn’t good at. I realized my mistake when I was a sophomore, and I decided to do only a few events that I liked. I also dropped other clubs because I joined them to skip school and they didn’t give me any advantage.
The first day of field marks the beginning of a new teaching experience, and for that reason, the first day of field will forever be a nerve-wracking day for me. On September 13, 2016, I, Mr. Cataldo began a new teaching journey, at Carlstadt Public School, a suburban school, in Carlstadt, New Jersey—Mrs. Mariano’s sixth-grade language arts literacy classroom. While walking through the front doors of the school, numerous questions began to come to mind, such as the following: Will Mrs. Mariano and her students feel comfortable with my presence in their classroom? Will I establish a positive relationship with Mrs. Mariano and her sixth-grade students? Albert Einstein once said, “The only source of knowledge is experience” (Albert Einstein Quotes, para.1). Today, I am fully aware that in life, one’s personal and professional experience, both good and bad, enables he or she grow as a person and more importantly as a learner. For that reason, I find it pivotal for one to realize that in life, it is normal to feel nervous, as well as make mistakes; what matters is that he or she is more than capable of transforming his or her mistakes into successes.
The struggle of not being able to breathe properly, gasping for air while the fever inside was killing me little by little and my fragile self in the age of four did not know what was happening to me I was brain dead, more like clueless little kid almost having a near death experience of having a seizure that in the end it changed my life and the way I looked at it because God gave me another chance to actually prove to him that I can be someone in my life and grateful to be alive today knowing that I have family that actually loves me for who I am.
The meaning to this quote is remembering the past and wanting to go back either to switch the past or live in the past once again. To quote really relates to my high school journey because there was a point where I didn't care for school, and I slacked off by not turning in assignments, and not doing homework. If I could go back in time to freshman year I would make better life decisions. I would take my classes seriously.
The story about I Martranika Gross, called changing my life. It all begin with many ideals that I had in mind to become while changing my life so my daughter will fix in. First was continue my education at Strayer University and a journey to follow. Next, becoming a role model with a pathway lay out for my daughter, a showing her not to stay you can’t to become successful. Finally, overcome obstacles first you have to have faith within yourself, and the key word is knowledge.
For hundreds of years it has been recognized that not all learning takes place in the classroom. Students mental and social development also occurs outside the classroom in athletics, music, and clubs. No matter what club the student is involved in, he/she fosters organizational, interpersonal, communication, planning, critical thinking, financing, and evaluation skills. A club gives students the opportunity to combine components of their mental and social development into personal action. These students have opportunities to test their skills and talents in different situations. Students will always work together to set goals, develop action plans for achieving those goals and implement those plans. Doing so, students could develop and maintain working relationships and friendships. The soul of a club is the students, but it also consists of many things that happen behind the scenes.
There is a point in everyone’s life when they step back and realize “I can’t do this anymore, it’s ruining my life”. Many of my friends have started smoking cigarettes while drinking at a very young age, and continue to use this drug currently and don’t realize the affect it has on their future. While I have been smart enough to avoid smoking, I haven’t been as wise at making decisions when it comes to drinking. The amount of partying I’ve done in college has taken over my life, and has had a huge impact on my grades. Changing my drinking habits and continuing to avoid cigarettes will enable me to be the best I can be for the rest of my college experience.
There have been tons of things that I have learned and been taught in my life, by a number of people such as family, teachers, or even friends on occasion. The things they taught me vary from math and other related subjects to just some truly simple yet meaningful life lessons. However, there is nothing quite as unique, quite as special as a person teaching themselves a life lesson. It really is an amazing accomplishment for a person to teach themselves something. It is not quite as simple as another person teaching them something because it is not just the transferring of information from one person to another. The person instead has to start from scratch and process the information they have in their mind in order to come up with a new thought
