Personal Narrative: My Experience At Fordham Foundry

My experience at the Center for Social Innovation(CSI) or Fordham Foundry was underwhelming due to the lack of experienced people who were able to assist me. Being that I was unable to speak with the professor, I spoke with Anthony Parente and Enzo Obeso, two up and coming entrepreneurs who made their best efforts to inform me on what takes place at the Fordham Foundry. The CSI is a location for student run companies to work on their tasks, while it is also a place where college students can mold business ideas into the process of starting their own companies. The room is decently-sized, set up on the second floor of a building on Fordham Road. A long table stands in the middle of the room as a prime location for discussions, meetings, and collaborative talks for business consultation. The Fordham Foundry is supported by The Gabelli School of Business, the city government, and private donors to allow the workshops for young entrepreneurs to take place. The professors give out all the assistance and supporting cast for the students to work out their business ideas. Young entrepreneur, Anthony Parente, mentioned how the Foundry “provides a community and place where we feel comfortable struggling through the daily questions” and “the professors are always willing to give valuable feedback”.
