Personal Narrative: Gary Davis's Creativity Is Forever

When faced with answering such a question, I had to really think about what I wanted to accomplish. There are so many things one can do with unlimited power and resources, but to be efficient and effective I decided to focus on just a couple main areas and not in trying to solve all the problems of the world. The ideas were many but the hardest part of the process was not discounting any of the ideas early on. I also adhered to the creative thinking process laid out in Gary Davis's Creativity is Forever. Fact finding: Aside from the power and wealth, I value family and life, so I noticed a lot of the suggestions I was coming up with were centered on that. Lucky for me, money seems to rule the world and I have no shortage of it. As far as a security team is concerned. I would give security jobs to returning soldiers in need of employment. I would also recruit at martial arts facilities and shooting ranges. To carry out my requests and help come up with ideas and solutions, I would need to have an awesome team. College students with ingenuity and great creative thinking skills would be the place I would look at. I would tour colleges, recruit, and build a team of workers that could think outside of the box. I would piggy back off of existing assistance agencies to send me applicants they could not help. Some people make too much money for assistance but not enough to live on their own. I would inform them so that they could assist me and my mission and also so that they could provide me with possible solutions. I would also call the bank and set up an account just for scholarship awards. I would send my team to contact Re/max to scout for buildings with farmland nearby so that we could start working on the first neighborhood center before building the rest of them. Re/Max has been around for over 40 years and is “is a leader in the commercial and investment arenas”. Although it would cost more, I would get it furnished by local small independent businesses. The centers would focus on making the people independent and teaching core values and ethics to make them a more productive part of society. They could grow and tend to the land and feed themselves and the neighborhood. I would get homedepot to help with the gardening supplies, fruit and vegetable seeds, and sheds for the supplies. I would also reach out to Big Brothers and Big Sisters so that neighborhood kids could have good role models to look up to. It is an organization that “helps children realize their potential and build their futures….nurture children and strengthen communities.” I would have to recruit teachers to help at the facility as well.
