Exploring Nevada During that time I went to go visit family in Reno, but For what I think it was a good experience visiting my relatives Who I’ve never even met yet. We went to go to nevada in the early morning, it was a tiring trip but we made it all the way but with a couple stops on the way, but we made there. The relatives I’ve met were my Uncles, Aunties, and couple of cousins I’ve never met But my mom were happy to meet again in such a long time we’ve never seen them. During our time in Nevada, My cousin says he works at a Mcdonald's after my mom told them I work at a mcdonald’s but we got a few outings during the day as we walked throughout the town and we had a few laughs altogether but we had a good time at dinner after I paid for
Gosh! I’m so hungry do you know what sounds good Mcdonalds. I go there at least once a week. The lines are usually always rapid all the way around the build but it's worth the wait. The first Mcdonalds ever built was at Des Plaines, Illinois since 1940. I love their Mcchicken and their chicken nuggets. Today, Mcdonald’s advertises is everywhere on billboards, on tv in music ads, and etc.
I wonder if I should I start calling Las Vegas, Nevada home now. I’ve traveled back and forth from California to Las Vegas since I was a child. I can remember at the age of thirteen my family and I would take family weekend trips very often. By the age of seventeen I was forced to move to Vegas for 6 months right before my senior year of high school started. Since it was my last year of high school my parents decided to let me go back to California for the last three months and graduate with my friends. Since I wasn’t eighteen yet, I forced to go back to Las Vegas right the day after graduation.
My youth pastor pulled out of our church parking lot at three am in the morning loaded down with a bus full of twenty four teenagers including me. We were off at last head to Colorado Spring Colorado, little did I know, our bus was going to fall apart this very day.
As we trudged over broken boulders and through towering oak trees, I began to feel hopeless. This was my one chance to prove my capabilities as a leader on the trail, and I was failing miserably.
I wake up to the sun shining through the window and the faint laughter from my family downstairs. It's the first day of our annual trip to Rhode Island. I lie in bed for a few moments and think about one thing. Rhode Island. I wouldn’t rather be anywhere else than here. I glance at the clock and it is only eight in the morning, but everybody is already up, enjoying breakfast, and getting ready to head to the beach. It's not supposed to rain until later in the day, so hopefully we can enjoy our day at the beach before it rains. I eventually make my way out of bed and tiptoe across the frigid wood floors and join my family downstairs. Everybody is up except my brother, Thomas.
I awake by the music playing on the radio on 92.5FM. The clock read 5 ’o’ clock in the morning. While I could be sleeping in like everyone else my age, I rise quickly to put on a pair of bootcut jeans and a tanktop with my long, blonde hair pulled into a low ponytail. Lastly, I pull my ponytail through my blue and yellow hat with Rockin W Ranch stitched across the front. As I’m leaving for another long, hard working day on the horse ranch, I slip on my well worn cowboy boots. My day involves hard labor like: bailing hay, grooming horses, working horses, throwing saddles on Appoloosa horses, different obstacles, and my favorite riding horses. Around one in the afternoon, my legs and arms begin to shake with fatigue, but I must push on. I will move forward to finish as strong as I started.
Whenever I think about my family's trip to the Grand Canyon over the summer, I always wonder what it would have been like if I had not been too afraid to hike down the rim. When planning our annual vacation, my family decided that we would fly into Denver, Colorado, and slowly make our way to Las Vegas. The one stop along the way that I was looking forwards to the least was the Grand Canyon: I am more afraid of heights than anything else. Although I felt mentally prepared upon our arrival, I quickly decided that the Grand Canyon wasn't for me after a quick glance at the sheer, unprotected 3,000 foot drop.
Have you ever looked off a gigantic cliff? Now imagine traveling 30 miles per hour on a bike with curvy roads with enormous cliffs on your side with no rails. This is exactly what I did with my family when we went to Colorado. From the hotel we drove to a bike tour place to take us to the summit of Pikes Peak. After we arrived at the building we saw pictures of how massive the cliffs were, but what terrified me was the fact they had no side rails. This observation was thrilling as well as terrifying. It was an odd mix of emotions, but I loved the adrenaline rush it gave me. My dad whispered to me, “ This will be absolutely horrifying”.
So I went to Las Vegas with my toddler Spanish and came back a boy! There was not many Spanish speaking people when I went. I was a bit of a creeper listening to random conversations wearing my cheap sunglasses. I would try my best to find the verb, subject, and object they were talking about. Basic words like sed, hambre, mira, mi, tu were common. Sometimes I would recognize the verb but could not figure out the verb ending kind of like trabajarldfkjsdpsb. I was asked a few times if I spoke Spanish and I always replied with “Hablo un poco”. They would then send a flurry of words in my direction as I stood hopeless trying to understand. We walked around San Juan, the capital of Puerto Rico a little. Then we went to the ferry that was taking us where to Culebra. It was about 1pm by now. The ferry ride was about an hour and a half long ride. It was raining a little so we couldn’t sit outside of the boat and see the view. I ended up falling asleep for about half the ride. When we finally got to Culebra, we were so happy. It wasn’t raining anymore, the sun was out, and it was beautiful. At the time we didn’t have car so we were kinda stuck there. After a half hour of calling places to see if they had any cars for rental we finally found a place. We rented two big black jeeps for the next 10 days. I was very confused because we only sat at the dining room table for holidays and special occasions. The last time they sat us down this formerly was when my mom was pregnant with my sister. I thought that they were about to tell us that I was going to have another sibling, which would be a bit extreme considering my brother was a sophomore in high school. We sat there patiently waiting for them to explain the reason for this meeting; my mom started explaining that my dad had lost his job about a month ago. Some of my best family experiences were on family trips, but sometimes it was not in fact the activities at the place we were going but the journey there that held the learning experiences. Most of the family trips that we take are over eight hours long. There are many things that come from being in a cramped car for that long. One of which is you get bored unless you talk to other people, so that’s what you do. Sometimes you can find out a lot about a person by talking to them for that long, even people that you thought you knew completely. On one of my family trips my brother told about a time that his friend almost suffocated on a snow caving trip. It happened when they were crushing in the snow caves and it wasn’t working, then the last time that his friend tried jumping on it, the ceiling broke through and he was stuck halfway with his face buried in snow. It was close to four o’clock in the morning and we were tired. We met up with my dad at the airport and grab us a taxi. As we leave, we drive by a desert that was completely surrounded with sand. Passing through we made it into the city, looking at the flashing lights and buildings that stood tall. It was too early to go out and explore, we needed our rest. One day before Fourth of July, and it was going to be a fun day at my cousin 's house because we were going to spend it at the pool. We finally arrived to my family’s favorite vacation spot, my cousin 's house. His house was near San Francisco, in a place called fairfield. My family really liked going there, and I think that it was because my mom got to see her brother for at least two days.
