My trip to the Getty museum was filled with anticipation and an unknowing of what Iwas actually searching to write about. I went on a Friday at about eleven but the museum was still full. It took about twenty minutes to find parking, the wait in line was long, and the tram had so many people it felt even hotter then it actually was. But overall the experience was fun. I enjoyed checking out the works of art and watching the classes of elementary students learn about the history and culture in the room. On one occasion I was very surprised because a mother asked her daughter, who could not have been more than six, about a painting was which she correctly identified as Vincent Van Gogh’s Irises, which was great because I never knew about Van Gogh at her age. …show more content…
As I walked in and looked around, I noticed how big it was and how many people there were. There was not only amazing art, but great views of Los Angeles, which I found really impressive as well. The work of art that caught my eye was Claude Monet’s oil painting Sunrise c. 1873. To its left was The Portail of Rouen Cathedral in Morning Light c. 1894 and to the right was Still Life with Flowers and Fruit c. 1869. The subject of the sea from Monet’s Sunrise I was able to associate it with, Hokouasi’s Thirty Six Views of Mount Fuji c. 1826-1833. The museum was a very fun experience, and finding a piece of art from our readings in class made the experience a lot more rewarding, because I was able to take what I learned in class and apply it outside of
My overall experience at the Montclair Art Museum was very positive and I enjoyed observing different works of art. It was interesting to see the different mediums and themes used for different works of art. The Metropolitan Museum of Art has one of the finest Asian art collections that has enlightened and strengthened my understanding in my personal art experience. The Museum itself is an artistic architectural structure that graces the entire block on 82nd Street in Manhattan. Entering inside, I sensed myself going back into an era, into a past where people traded ideas and learned from each other. It is a past, where I still find their works of yesteryears vividly within my grasp, to be remembered and shared as if their reflections of works were cast for the modern devoted learner.
I visited Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena, California for the first time hoping to learn more about the European artworks this place has to offer. Norton Simon Museum holds the remarkable amounts of artwork by world-renowned artists: Vincent Van Gogh, Rembrandt van Rijin, Caravaggio, Raphael, and Pablo Picasso just to name a few. I observed many European paintings in the 18th to 19th century; I chose to discuss the artwork by the incredible Claude-Oscar Monet. Claude-Oscar Monet’s Mouth of the Seine at Honfleur, 1865 is an oil painting of a seascape on a canvas. The Parisian artist is considered one of the most influential artists in the late nineteenth to early twentieth century.

The Tampa Museum of Art was not always the same museum that we see today. It went through multiple stages throughout the years. The works vary, creating a large spectrum from the old to the new. The social angles change with the exhibits in the museum, combining to create the diversity we see today. Visiting this museum in person helped me to appreciate it even more than I would have thought possible. Observing and analyzing the other visitors helped me to understand the museum’s impact on the community more than I would have been able to just by reading about it. This museum is much different from others than I have visited.
For majority of people, cruising through a fine arts museum or gallery is nothing short of browsing through a textbook and failing to grasping knowledge of the content. A casual activity and check off ones list of to-dos, sometimes done just for the appearance it offers. Of that majority, one might look at a painting for a long while before connecting the uncommunicated dots from gallery label. But for the small remaining others, a trip to an art exhibition is a journey through emotions and feelings rendered by the artists of the particular works of art. As we reach the museum, the exterior was very beautiful. The first things I saw were the bronze statues in the front. We took a couple of pictures in front of them and in front of the Norton Simon. The entrance where the glass doors had sat was very unique and elegant. The glass walls that the glass doors were attached to, added to the elegance and beauty. When I had first walked in, I was very shy, timid, and unwilling to go on, this was due to the more mature audience that I had seen when I had first entered the museum. I was still unsure on how to act in a museum, being this my first time, so I was very calm, cool and reserved, but as time went on I saw college students my age probably doing the same thing I was doing. So I then I felt more at ease. Plus my girlfriend was with me so I was not alone.
The facility was smaller than expected by many on the tour group. However, the tour guide had a very nice explanation to each of the artworks. By visiting the museum to gain the aesthetic experience it has open many people point of views to how they can express his or her self through art.
One pleasant afternoon, my classmates and I decided to visit the Houston Museum of Fine Arts to begin on our museum assignment in world literature class. According to Houston Museum of Fine Art’s staff, MFAH considers as one of the largest museums in the nation and it contains many variety forms of art with more than several thousand years of unique history. Also, I have never been in a museum in a very long time especially as big as MFAH, and my experience about the museum was unique and pleasant. Although I have observed many great types and forms of art in the museum, there were few that interested me the most.
The Rotunda’s dome is 58 feet high with a skylight 20 feet across on top, which has been restored recently into a bright colored stained glass design. The museum had its first grand opening on November 6, 1913 and was called “The Los Angeles County Museum of History, Science, and Art. It was formally opened to the public. The museum was joined by other major cultural facilities in the park; the Memorial Coliseum, Sports Arena, Swimming Stadium, California Science Center, California African American Museum and the largest Municipal-Owned Rose Garden in the nation, with a beautiful water fountain in the center. As I walk into the museum onto the first level, there are many different halls surrounding.
It was a rainy December 26th and me and my family were on the Brooklyn Bridge.The bridge was crowded with everyone constantly stopping to soak in as much as they could.The view of the Statue of Liberty was magnificent which led to many tourists stopping to take pictures.After almost walking half a mile we were ready to go home.The way to the exit was all the way back down and then you had to take the tunnel back to the subway.The way down was chaotic and quite dangerous.
The first art gallery we entered was by far my favorite. It was well put together and had very extravagant art paintings. Inside a man was strumming his guitar. I loved the ambiance I felt when I walked in. People observed the art in an orderly fashion. There were snacks like cheese, tea, crackers, cookies, and homemade flavored water to enjoy as people reviewed the art displayed on the walls. The art itself was truly breathtaking and breathtakingly expensive as well. I wondered at the time how much art could have costed back in the eras we are studying in class, as composed of
...ad. They change opinions and perspectives and cause people to think in ways they normally would not just because of the sheer power of the exhibits around them. They are a necessity in society because it betters and cultures the population, making the world greater as a whole. I am thankful that museums are taking the initiative to becoming more modernized, adding twenty first century touches to the exhibits as well as creating virtual tours. Even though they do not compare to being there in person, it is a step in the right direction. We need museums more than most know, anything they can do to ensure they do not become a thing of the past, they should. I am glad I got to experience this class this semester, it changed my warped views on museums and caused me to appreciate them more. I am thankful to have learned more about myself through these remarkable museums.
The inside of the museum was intense because you walk into see two huge dinosaur structures in the front. There were also many entrances to different exhibits on top the entrances were enormous murals depicting various things. The murals showed all of the cultures around the world. All of the cultures are able to mix in with each other. For instance, the mural on top of the Asian Peoples exhibit was showing the many different Asian cultures such as Japanese, Korean, and Chinese mixing into one huge mural. There was the mural on top of the African Peoples exhibit that included prominent animals such as, lions and elephants. And lastly for the South American Peoples exhibit that included Theodore Roosevelt in the mural signifying the creation of the Panama Canal. I like how the murals all had the same color schemes.
