What is the best way to spend free time? Sometimes the best thing to do is nothing. People are always moving too fast and too much to experience life at its fullest. School, work, personal agendas, and extracurricular activities can compose such a busy schedule that no one has any time left in the day. We all need breaks here and there. I think Christmas break really helped me to stay in touch with other things in life that matter. Throughout the break, I had the honor of making time for family, friends, and myself. A lot of my family lives out of state, so I rarely get to see them. I do not really see my old friends anymore because I go to Teurlings. I love my family, and I cherish every moment when I am with them. When I went to Dallas for New Years, we had a massive family get-together with loud music and fun games. A lot of my cousins are around the same age, so we all hang out together. I have grown pretty close to some of my cousins over the years. It is always hard to leave them when the partying is over. My second most favorite time of the break was being able to be surrounded by the people I love, my family.
I spent most of my time with my friends. I have not been able to see some of my old friends since the summer, so it was incredible to see them again. My friends and I went to a few parties, ate out, and watched movies. While I was in Lafayette, I spent mostly every night with a friend. I am closer to my best friend, Carlie, and a few of my other friends, than I am to my family. I stayed with Carlie for a whole week over break.
