Personal Communication Ethic
I feel that that the best way to persuade people is with your ears — by listening to them. Feeling this way, I based my personal communication ethic on listening. If all you do is talk, then you probably don't have too many friends. I know that when I am interrupted in mid-sentence I feel like punching the other person. I feel as if the other person doesn't give a care in the world about what I think, and not only does that take away any respect I had for that person, but it hurts my feelings.
Here, I have the TOP TEN WORST EXCUSES NOT TO LISTEN
10. It would blow my chances for America's Funniest Home Videos

8. My spouse will expect me to do it all the time
7. I like the challenge of doing a project for the boss when I don't have a clue what's wanted
6. Ignorance is bliss
5. Two words: Political speeches (I'm sorry, that's a good excuse)
4. It gives me a chance to use my creativity to fill in the blanks
3. I forget what I'm going to say if I listen

1. People might think I care
“Listening to obtain sensory stimulation or enjoyment through the works or experiences of others,” can promote effective listening skills within the family unit. In this connection, through the use of storytelling, families can ultimately develop and refine listening skills and promote a rich sojourn of the past. This is one way you can practice listening is at home.
I hope you have learned something through this speech and I hope you can use this ethic in your life.
Thank you

#2 Your emotional and physiological state will influence the meaning you give to your perceptions. The sight of raw clams may be physically upsetting when you have a stomachache, but mouth watering when you're hungry. Also, perceiving only the positive in people that you like and only the negative in the people that you do not like is called bias. Be aware of perceptual evaluations influenced by your own biases.
#3 Self-concept differs in different situations and at different times through many different ways. One way would be through others images of you.
To begin, one of the major reasons that make people who they are is self-image.
3.) If I were starting my own business, I wouldn’t just use one assessment method. I
When my mother was of high school age (around 16 years old), she lived with her parents and six other siblings (D. Ta, personal communication, July 8, 2015). Her father, mother, four brothers, and two sisters were 48, 45, 22, 21, 21, 20, 18, and 16 years old, respectively (D. Ta, personal communication, July 8, 2015). They were all of Vietnamese descent and followed the religion of Buddhism; however, this did not play a major factor in their lives, as they were not devout followers who attended weekly lectures and listened to every single word spoken in the temple(s) (D. Ta, personal communication, July 8, 2015). On the other hand, the house I was living in when I was enrolled in high school consisted of my parents and two other siblings. My
4. At that moment I couldn’t feel any more cynical about the way my friend was acting out.
5. Chose one solution and carry it out. Then ask if it has been working.
Self-concept is a prominent term used not only in humanism, but also in social psychology to explain how a person perceives or thinks about herself. It is simply the image we have about ourselves and is influenced by people we interact with in our lives. It also portrays our ability and our uniqueness and constitutes a collection of qualities, beliefs, behavior, and the nature of an individual. Self-concept ent...
The first assignment examined communication, ethics and perception. Entering into this class, I can say that I definitely took communication for granted. I focused too often on analyzing what is said when communicating rather than fully listening. The ability to put forth ideas and information in ways that are verbal and nonverbal is amazing. When thinking about ethics in communication, the first thing that comes to mind is patient/doctor or attorney/client privilege. Next, are companies that make claims that are worded in such a way that if their products do not work exactly as advertised, their half-truths may not be considered illegal but they are definitely unethical.
3. I will deepen my mind during camping trips. When I'm able to go camping with my family I can always find a peaceful place to concentrate.
Self concept is not inherent. It is shaped and reshaped by the people around us, the people who influence us directly or indirectly. Self concept of a child depends upon the description provided to him by these people e.g. parents, teachers, peers etc. it may be correct or incorrect as it is formed by the people, how they see the child e.g. if the family members tell the child constantly that he / she is lazy, the child starts to see himself/ herself as lazy. However due to the subjective opinion of family members it may not be correct
21. Is there anything else that you would like to mention or reflect upon before we conclude this interview?
Listening is the process of selecting, attending to, creating meaning from, remembering and responding to verbal and nonverbal messages. I tend to not listen well when I’m angry or tired, and also when my mom tells me something she’s already told me before. I think sometimes I don’t listen to my mom because I experience listener burnout which means being weary of listening to other people. I believe I experience this because she has already told me something several times and I grow weary of hearing the same thing over and over. This affects me because my mom is my elder and I should listen to her because she is older and has obtained more knowledge about situations and events than I have. Also, I need to listen to her more because she is not going to tell me anything that would hurt me. My plan to alter my listening skills is to use the three steps presented in Chapter 5, stop, look, and listen. To stop I should not attend to off- topic self-talk by putting my own thoughts aside and make a mindful effort to listen; second I should look by examining nonverbal cues of those involved in the communication; I also need to accurately interpret nonverbal messages to help note what someone is saying verbally and nonverbally. I can also interpret nonverbal messages to receive the Meta message which is a message about a message. Finally, I should listen, and not only
In order to understand how one perceives situations and how they can determine the way one communicates; we first must understand the value of self-concept. Self is easily defined; it is one's beliefs, attitudes, feelings and values. It is who one is and what one stands for. Self-concept, is a relevantly stable set of perceptions and emotional states. It is the way one sees and understands oneself, and contributes to how one perceives oneself and perceives situations. One's self-concept may alter their perception, and either enhance or impede one's communication effectiveness. The way one sees oneself can influence the way they see their social surroundings. Only after one become aware of oneself can they be aware of their physical and social surroundings, which will allow one to perceive situations and people with a truer idea and create a more positive outcome.
Self-concept can be described as how a person views themselves. There is a variety of factors that impact a person’s self-concept but the biggest impact comes from self-esteem. Self-esteem is much like self-concept the only difference is the addition of emotions. For example say an individual likes a brand they are aware that they enjoy the brand so that’s self-concept. Self-esteem on the other hand, if nobody else in the workplace likes the brand programme individual likes that could have a negative effect on a person’s self-esteem and therefore effect a person’s self-concept. In the workplace self-concept is of the uttermost importance when estab...
In the following, I am going to talk about the self-concept. Self-concept suggested that there are different kinds of self, such as actual self, ideal self, physical self, public self and spiritual self (Buss, 2001).
