The Odyssey
“The Odyssey” is an epic written by a man named Homer. The Odyssey is about a man, Odysseus, that spent 20 years away from his family and home. As Odysseus was gone, he had a wife, Penelope, that longed for his return. Penelope is an epic hero because she holds just as much power as Odysseus. She is queen of Ithaca and finds multiple ways to buy her husband some time.
While Odysseus is away, Penelope fights of the suitors. She sets many challenges for the suitors, and in return they receive her hand in marriage. During these contests she hopes for Odysseus return, so she doesn't have to choose a suitor. Luckily none of them accomplish one before Odysseus returns home.
During Odysseus absence, Penelope stays loyal to her husband.
