On December 8,2016 a total of eight Sacred Hearts School students from grades 7-8 got the opportunity to take part in the "Discover Pearl Harbor" program. The Pacific Aviation Museum staff reached out to our school looking for 5 students to come and attend the program so the students could be able to obtain new outstanding knowledge of the past and a chance to take on new experiences. When the Pacific Aviation Museum director Shauna Tonkin received our email responses about attending the "Discovering Pearl Harbor" program, she was so amazed that we were so eager to experience and learn knew things outside the classroom she kindly let 3 others have a chance to experience something so fascinating. On the Pearl Harbor learning journey we got the chance to explore and learn about the devastating events that happened on December 7, 1941 along with other students from inter island and international schools.

During the "Discover Pearl Harbor" trip we got the chance to tour around Ford Island where we visited the memorials of the three sunken battleships the U.S.S Arizona, U.S.S Oklahoma, and U.S.S Utah. When we arrived at the U.S.S Arizona memorial what I thought was fascinating about it was that all around it in the harbor waters there was still oil leaking from the ship from nearly 75 years ago. It was also amazing learning some important life lessons that I will forever cherish with me throughout my life and I will indeed use what I have learned from the "Discover Peal Harbor" trip throughout my journeys in life. I truly appreciate the opportunity of being able to take a blast to the past and if I had to do it all over again I
