The war between good versus evil is in all aspects of life. Many people have to chose between the two by overcoming the challenges that are presented to them. Some people will chose the good, while the others will chose the bad. In Peace like a river by Leif Enger many of the characters actions that are committed both have good or evil consequences. In the novel Davey's decisions would impact the book by changing how the novel would progress. Right away in the novel Davey would make Reuben mature by making him shoot his first goose. As a young child like Reuben this was seen to him as this was a way for manhood. For Davey's action there was a sense of Pride made that developed in Reuben.
