The Passion for Soccer in Brazil and Argentina Can Be a Nightmare
When the world talks about soccer we tend to analyze that it can be a boring game to a lot of people. This is because the people who does not enjoy the sport likes to think that it is a very simple game in passing the ball to one another and the players tends to drop themselves and call it a foul as if it was something severe. It is a game that usually lasts 90 minutes but sometimes it goes beyond 120 minutes for a full game.
What most people does not know is that soccer can be considered to be the most violent game in the world. The reasons for this is because the violence is not just inside the field where the teams plays against each other, but outside the stadium along with the hooliganism groups (torcida organizadas) and the fans threatening and killing each other and even the players their selves. Where the soccer violence does comes from? After doing some research on it and being a dedicated fan to the sports I have come to the conclusion to where the violence comes from. It definitely comes from within us all and how passionate we can be about the team that we cheer for. In fact, it is not known to the human race when exactly soccer violence started and where it all began at, but Wikipedia explains that phenomenon can be traced back to the 14th century and that it may have started when Edward II banned football. My dream was to play soccer at Samford University in Birmingham, AL. My aunts, uncles, both grandparents, mom, dad, and now older brother have all attended Samford. The hoopla surrounding teams, geographic areas fans dwell in, and political ideals associated with individual clubs have carved an identity for millions of supporters whose heart and soul becomes dedicated to their favorite players, stadiums, and coaches. The new rules to Football are much stricter than they used to be. Some rules that have changed include changes to the Red and Yellow cards, usage of a fourth referee, changing of the ball and cleats, prohibition of physical violence during games, and specific rules and regulations. When examining the issue of criminal acts in sports it is easy to realize that there are many places where these acts occur. The range of these acts is far more vast than just in the professional arenas. This is, however, what the public sees and hears about most often. While this is one of the major topics of this paper, criminal acts are found in all of sport ranging from professionals, to college, high school, and in youth sports, including the reaction of the fans. This paper will take an in-depth look at the four major points regarding criminal acts in sport: the acts themselves; the consequences of those acts; the possible reasons for the acts occurring; an analysis of a few major events that have occurred and the possible solutions to the problem of criminal acts in sport. In the section about fan reaction to sport, there will be an overall account of the individual acts and not personal cases due to the overload of personal events that occur.
From the early ages in history to the present day, sports have always been an important part of society. It teaches discipline, how to be a team player, how to interact with others and is a good source of physical activity. In specific, football utilizes all of these aspects of sports and it’s a great source of teaching self-restraint and perseverance. Typically after a call is made, which one player or team is not in favor of, there is some type of verbal abuse given to a referee. Unfortunately, some people, whether they are players, coaches, or fans, lose their moral values for a short period, and commit an act of violence against a referee. It is an epidemic that obviously should not happen. One analogy to this would be punching one’s boss for making him or her work late. In an overview, anger to the point of violence against referees is a very silly act to commit.

With the increase in society taking a stance against violence, sports has become an area where some feel that the violent acts such as the hitting and fighting that occurs should be eliminated. It is very difficult to change the way that a game is played because people have been playing it that way for years.
