1. An African music element named, ostinato, has been prevalent amongst Northern and Western African nations, and continues to be expressed in multiple musical genres across the world, such as jazz and rock.

2. The kora is a twenty-one string, plucked chordophone. Its twenty-one strings are divided into two sets of string, which consists of an appeal that is a cross between a lute and a harp. It is plucked by the player's thumbs, with a gourd as the base of the instrument.
