It’s been one week since Sean, the father of Spencer, Sam, and Rachel, went to war. Sam feels torn apart about his father deployment. He feels like since he’s the oldest, he has to be a father figure for Spencer and Rachel. Sam misses his father very much and starts not acting like himself. Spencer has always been very focused on his school work and football and barely even notices that his dad isn’t home. Rachel is very sad that her father had to leave and is very scared that he could be in danger. It’s been one month now since Sean has been gone and the family has barely heard anything from him, until late one Saturday night when they got a phone call. Marley, Sam’s mother, immediately went to bail him out. When they got home, Marley decided that she was going to need help taking care of her children. She got another job to help pay for food and clothes, but it wasn’t enough, so she decided to call her brother, Bradly, and his wife Angelina, to try and convince them to move to Brooklyn to help her, and they did. They moved into a house right down the street from Marley about a month later. Bradley and Angelina came to their house every day and comforted Rachel and Spencer and helped them with their homework. They couldn’t do much for Sam, he was barely home and always getting into trouble at school and with the law. Sometimes he would disappear for weeks at a time and then show up and go back to hiding in his room. The family was struggling financially and Spencer soon had to get a job working part time at Wendy’s to help out. Bradly soon notices what is going on and steps in to help.
