Old Oregon Trail Short Story

Marvin gave me this journal to write all of our memories in while on the Oregon Trail. We had to move out of our house because there wasn’t enough farmland for us to grow our crops. Other farmers were basically growing their farms in our property. We spent the whole day packing for our trip to Oregon. Trying to get everything that we can in our one bag was difficult. Soon, there wasn't enough room for all of our belongings so we had to leave some of our supplies back home. Our current house is a log cabin on a small farm in England. The land around it was treacherous and we had to leave the sight. There is 2 days left before we head out west to Oregon. We had an old Prairie Schooner from years ago to put our stuff in. Not a second passed by and the wagon’s wheel snapped. I shook Marvin hard and grabbed the repair kit. He quickly jumped out of the wagon and stopped the oxen from moving any further. The wagon was tipping and Marvin couldn't hold it up by himself. Steven and Phillip woke up and helped him hold the wagon in place while Marvin fixed the wheel so we could get back on the road. We were still in England and I didn't think we were going to be out any time soon. We finally got the wheel fixed and decided to take a break from all the rambling. My mother said there would be many problems along the way but I didn't think they would happen so early into the trip. A couple minutes later, Marvin and the kids decided that we should get back on the trail before we get behind on our planning. I've heard many good things about Oregon so I wanted to get there as soon as I could to start my new life and my new family. We have many stops to go through to get there. It was now April 14 and we were headed straight to our first destination,
