Commercial off the shelf (COTS) software packages is described as a software of hardware that is ready available and can be purchased by an organization at any time (Webopedia). COTS does not need to be customized to an organization existing system, it comes ready to be implemented into the existing system (Webopedia). Two off the shelf products are SAP and Microsoft Dynamics.

SAP is the most popular of all the ERP systems. SAP was developed by SAP AG in Walldorf, Germany (Brown, C.V., Dehayes, D.W., Hoffer, J.A., Martin, E.W., and Perkins, W.C., 2012, p. 199). It is said that the best run businesses run SAP (SAP).

Another off the shelf product is Microsoft Dynamics. Microsoft Dynamics focuses on business insights. Microsoft Dynamics offers a range of software that are easy to learn and use for your business. Microsoft Dynamics is said to have a business solution for your organization and is dedicated to growing your business through happy customers (Microsoft).

Comparison of SAP and Microsoft Dynamics

One recommendation for TBWI is SAP. In 2013 and recent years SAP remains the leader of ERP software. It was said that SAP continued to dominate the ERP market because of how well they orchestrates it ERP strategies in different areas (Columbus, L., 2013).
