I am currently a high school senior at Cumberland High School. Upon graduation, I will have earned my CNA license, Advanced Studies Diploma, and Associate’s Degree in General Studies from Southside Virginia Community College in Keysville, Virginia. I live with my legal guardian and will be commuting to college. I will be attending Longwood University in the fall to become an RN. This scholarship would assist me in earning my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), landing a job at Chippenham Hospital, and earning a Master of Health Administration.
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a degree that takes four years to complete at Longwood University. After graduating from LU, I will have earned my BSN and RN license. I have chosen to attend this university to take advantage of their 100% pass rate on the NCLEX-RN exam, the technologically advanced, multimillion dollar, simulation lab, and the competitiveness of the program. This scholarship would allow me to learn in a state of the art educational facility and provide me with the opportunity to accomplish of my dreams. …show more content…

This hospital has a safe score of 46, meaning they are a relatively safe hospital, in regards to the spread of infection. From communicating with former nurses who have worked at this hospital, I believe that Chippenham has the best opportunities for me as a nurse. Chippenham offers many specialties including a fifty bed emergency room, twelve labor and delivery rooms, and fourteen postpartum rooms. I am currently doing an internship at the labor and delivery unit and have thought about specializing in that department. This scholarship would provide me with the education to choose a specialty and work at Chippenham
