I am writing to express my interest in the career in the healthcare field. My plan is to pursue a Bachelor degree in Science of Nursing in the next few years. It should be a long trip requiring a lot of my effort. To be given a scholarship is a chance for me to reduce the financial burden in this pathway.
Firstly, I plan to finish the 60 credit hours of Pre-nursing program at South Plains College before transferring to the University of Texas Tech University for the Bachelor degree in Science of Nursing. I decide to focus on the full-time studying at this time so that I could early find a job in the field of study. Moreover, staying focus on this plan helps me to maintain the motivation of studying instead of stopping at AND/RN and coming back to finish after few years of working.
My ambition to become a nurse started since I was in Vietnam and participated in many volunteer activities in Rehability Centers. I had chances to talked with and took care handicapped and disadvantaged children in daily work. I realized that I had to be trained professionally in order to help more people. That is why I have to spend more time and effort in order to get a good result as my classmates. However, I always try to complete all the homework to be one of the top students in classes, such as in the Anatomy and Physiology course. I also spent my time on helping my friend with studying after class. For years, the volunteer activities in the Vietnamese church and pagoda help me to improve social skills as well as keep in connect with the community. These benefit will importantly prepare me for the future career. However, the financial statement is one of the priority conditions for me to keep studying while it is a limited chance for an international student working part-time on campus.
