Nuclear Energy is a potentially potent source of energy but still an unknown, unsafe entity that cannot be performed in a timely manner and the risks outweigh the potential. Though the 21st century is widespread with electronic devices and an ever-growing population, the thirst for electricity can be quenched by renewable resources. Men and women across the United States need to say NO to nuclear power because it cannot be performed in a timely manner, is a safety risk, and there are far more economical ways of producing energy that do not produce as much waste.

The first and one of the main reasons for not wanting nuclear power in the United States is that with the continuity of nuclear power, what also comes with it are nuclear weapons. The perennial enemies of America are able to obtain and use nuclear resources to create “Nuclear Power”, when really they could be using it for more weapons. Reactors take between 10-20 years to put up, including planning,permits, and construction. The world coal association website predicts that the world has another 118 years left of coal at current production. What is not factored in when coming up with that number is the growing population. With multiple civilizations growing and needing electricity, the United States does not have enough coal (The leading electricity provider across the world) to wait 10-20 years for each nuclear reactor.
Not only are coal reserves estimated to be depleted in about 100 years, natural gas is predicted to run out in about 87 years at the current rate that Americans are rationing it. These findings show that Americans need to wake up and realize that our children are going to be without electricity if our generation doesn't act fast to use our renewable sources such as hydro-turbine power,wind power, and solar
