This means that teens can make rash descions without fully thinking them through. Some of these desicions, like the descion to smoke, have life threatening consqequences. Of course, living a nictotine-free lifestyle is not difficult. Teens can: know the consequences, stay active, and manage stress.

Smoking limits an athlete’s performance. Smoking decreses lung function and decreases stamina. Being part of a sports team can lead to better descion making, because being on a team makes teens feel responsible for their actions. They also learn that their actions impact the rest of their team’s performance, and others around them. Participation also provides more comfortable situations to talk, for example on the ride to a game. A final example for how to live a nicotine-free lifestyle, is managing stress. Many smokers will smoke to cope with stress. Find a stress reliver, like exersise or reading. Sometimes haveing free time can help people cope with stress. For people struggling with stress, it is reccomended that they talk to a therapist. Therapists can help by perscibing medacation, or even providing ideas to help stess. Smoking has life threatening consequences. Adolesense is a confusing time, so encoarging teens to stay away from smoking will help them on a healthier and happier path in life. If teens can: know the consequences, stay active, and manage stress, they have a better chance of staying away from tobacco, and living a nicotine-free lifestyle.
