Do you ever wonder why citizens commit crimes? Recently, there has been a study that has been discovered called neurocriminology. Neurocriminology is the study of a criminal’s brain, it shows the reasons behind why they commit crimes. Neurocriminology is specifically a mix of biocriminology, criminology, and psychology. To be more specific, neurocriminology is "an emerging subdiscipline of biocriminology and criminology in general, which applies brain imaging techniques and principles from neuroscience to understand, predict and prevent crime."(“Neurocriminology.” Wikipedia, Wikimedia Foundation, 17 Aug. 2017, en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Neurocriminology.) Neurocriminology became an official scientific study on November 3, 2015, till today, it is still a new and emerging topic. The goal of neurocriminology is to be able to predict future criminals and stop the crime that they could possibly commit. They still committed the crime and need to pay the time. If that were to happen the convicts who did not know what they were doing would be sent to prison and have to fend for themselves. There would be no way to help correct their biological obstacle that made them this way. If they are not treated as soon as they are released, they will just repeat the cycle because they were never taught what is right and what is wrong. When they do not know the difference between right or wrong it is like they need to be reprogrammed to understand what is right or wrong. Without professional help that only a certain place could provide and not a prison won’t we be repeating the cycle all over again instead of helping to solve the
