Science. It’s one of the most, if not the most important area of our society and our culture. But what is science, without communicators to pass on the knowledge we gain from it? Neil deGrasse Tyson is one of these people. He plays a key role in the future development of science and technology by provoking a new generation to learn to love science, and to leap into the STEM fields. Tyson has and will continue to inspire countless children and adults alike, including myself.

Neil deGrasse Tyson was born on October 5th, 1958 to Cyril and Sunchita Tyson in Manhattan. From an early age, Neil as had a fascination with astronomy. Tyson is that he is enthusiastic. “The director of the Hayden Planetarium at the Rose Center for Earth and Space is reminiscent of that electric teacher some were fortunate enough to have in college. Tyson is erudite, enthusiastic and hopeful.” Many agree that Neil deGrasse Tyson as almost child-like enthusiasm for science, which enables him to connect with the audience more. Not only is Tyson enthusiastic, but he is very passionate as well. His passion for science, I don’t think, could be denied by anyone that knows of him. “Passion is what gets you through the hardest times that might otherwise make strong men weak, or make you give up.”- Neil deGrasse Tyson. Many would recognize Dr. Tyson as one of the most passionate and energetic science lecturers in today’s world. In addition to being very enthusiastic and passionate about science, he is also very clever when it comes to creating new ways to explain ideas. He comes up with simple metaphors for complex concepts that makes them easy to understand for the average person.
