Academic Misconduct Academic misconduct is considered one of the most harmful actions in the academic community, as it may degrade the academic community in various ways. In general, the academic community is where a group of people gathered together to pursue education, so there should not be any kind of academic misconduct, as it may ruin the point of being in the academic community. However, those actions may not be equally harmful to the academic community. Indeed, I’d say that the most harmful form of academic misconduct is plagiarism, as it leads to many negative consequences.

However, those forms of academic misconducts do lead to the same consequences, as when students plagiarize either other people works or their own works, their actions negatively impact the academic community by degrading the community’s reputation, destroying the expectations of the readers, and reducing students’ abilities to utilize their knowledge and ideas. As we have learnt about the academic dishonesty, those actions supposed to be completely wiped out. Therefore, we all should know that as a member of the academic community, we are all expected to have integrity and responsibility. If we plagiarize then there is no reason to be in the academic community, as it will not help us generating new ideas or gaining new knowledge.
