The National Park Service was a huge and crucial stand in history because it started a new system of preserving land. This event was in 1916 but it carried on until now. It was established to protect beautiful landmarks such as the Grand Canyon and Yosemite National Park. This topic is important because these landmarks could have been destroyed. But, some industries such as oil and mining companies still don’t care if they are ruining the protected land. So, this is an important topic that affects our world. After this act many environments were affected and became more preserved. That is how this topic was a significant stand in history. The National Park Service is to protect important, beautiful lands. It was established on August 25, 1916. This act was signed by president Woodrow Wilson in Washington D. Some of which were different parks being established along with the council of defense being formed. Before this happened, in 1872, Yellow stone became a National Park, which started this act. After this act, many areas became National Parks, and, now there are more than 400 Parks. That is how this topic started. This topic started in the United States of America. It affected our country by keeping our landmarks safe and away from any harm. By having the National Park Service, our parks can last longer with not as much human-environment interaction.The world has been affected as well. With America having a Park Service, other countries have parks of their own as well. Now, so much land is being protected. This establishment changed how our lives today are. One way is because now we can’t go and harm certain lands with human environment interaction. Although, before the establishment, there were no laws like that.
